STAFFORD – A little parental pressure worked wonders Saturday for second-year SK Light Modified division competitor Dylan Kopec.

Kopec, of Palmer, Mass., held off Zach Aszklar to win the 20-lap SK Light Modified feature Saturday at Stafford Motor Speedway. It was the first career victory in the division for Kopec, who had a struggle filled rookie year at the track in 2011.

Kopec is the son of former NASCAR Whelen Modified Tour regular Chris Kopec.

“My dad pretty much put the pressure on me and said I’m not a rookie no more,” Kopec said. So I’m feeling a little pressure for that.”

Aszklar, of Wallingford, held on for second. Tony Membrino Jr. of Plantsville was third.

In the Limited Late Models, Josh Wood, making his debut in the division, took down the checkered in the 20-lap feature. Cory Casagrande of Stafford was second and D.J. Burnham of East Hartford third.

In the 15-lap DARE Stock division it was Kyle Casagrande of Stafford beating second place runner Cliff Saunders of Stafford to the checkered. Johnny Walker of Ludlow, Mass. was third.
