Ted Christopher Disqualification Call Reversed By Thompson International Speedway
Upon further review …
Moments after the conclusion of the 30-lap NASCAR Whelen All-American Series SK Modified feature Sunday at the Icebreaker at Thompson International Speedway word was trickling out that track officials had made the decision to disqualify Ted Christopher from his fourth place finishing spot.
Monday things changed involving the situation.
Thompson Speedway officials announced Monday afternoon that the call to disqualify Christopher from the finishing spot has been reversed and the Plainville driver will be recognized as having finished fourth in the race.
Speedway officials had announced Sunday that Christopher was being disqualified for competing with illegally altered mufflers.
“Officials had originally made the call believing that the mufflers had been altered,” read a statement from Thompson International Speedway Monday. “However, upon further investigation, it was found that the mufflers had suffered from severe wear and had not been altered. As a result, Christopher’s original finishing position, 4th, has been reinstated.”
Ryan Preece of Berlin won the event.

Hmmm, if your mufflers are internally warn out our rotted, is concidered an illegal part !! Just saying !!
I figured the same thing as Ken but the Thompson rulebook doesn’t say anything about it.
Both Stafford and Waterford have a line in the rule for mufflers that old, rotted, incomplete mufflers are the same as modified mufflers and would be illegal. Thompson has nothing.
New mufflers show better numbers on the dyno then rotted out mufflers. So take your hmmm and shove it!
To the converse, worn out mufflers weren’t the reason TC was nearly a straightaway behind the top three on Sunday. This is a non-event compared to all of the other hijinks that happen at Thompson!
How about all the crybabies lay off TC. We all want talent to win races and do good. Then, when he does good-the whiners do what they do best. WHINE So-how bout Shut Up and race the cars instead of the big mouths.
im with you john and mike
If u cant beat them, cheat. Thats tc motto
you are right dyno numbers are better on new mufflers but if you knew how to make a pair of new WORNOUT ones you would see even better numbers!hmmm! and by the way if new numbers are better why did he have JUNK ones on there! hmmm
