I’ve got a piece running this weekend about the Archdiocese of Hartford and its Lenten push. They tried new confession hours on Monday nights; officials say early reports are encouraging.
There’s also a church-sanctioned app for confession, now in its third year.
But not everyone is looking to the future. At least one parish has had success by looking to the past. Ann Marie Somma of the Religion News Service (and formerly of The Courant) found a Catholic church in Derby that imported an old-fashioned confessional and has had parishioners lining up to use it. Check out her story here.
