AT&T, Verizon Top Scorers In Tests Of New Haven Mobile Carriers

At&T and Verizon provided the best combined performance (data, call and text) among carriers in New Haven, according to the latest RootScore Report compiled by Root Metrics.
At&T, at 93, and Verizon, at 92, had the top combined scores, ahead of T-Mobile (70), Sprint (57) and MetroPCS (51).
Other findings:
>> AT&T had the fastest download speeds at 15 megabits per second, up from 9.5 Mbps. The average upload speed was 5.7 Mbps, up from 4.3. (Note: the tests were taken before AT&T launched its high-speed 4G LTE service in New Haven.)
>> Verizon’s download speed was 12.7 Mbps, up from 9.6. It’s average upload speed was 7.4 Mbps, up from 4.6.
>> Sprint started to clean up its text service: More than 72 percent of its texts were delivered in less than 10 seconds, up from 42 percent. The percentage of texts delivered in more than minute decreased from 37.1 percent to 1.3 percent.
