Average rates in New England for a fixed 15-year mortgage dropped to 2.95 percent in the past week, according to figures released Thursday by Freddie Mac.
The average rate for 30-year loans remained at 3.70 percent this week. (Fifteen-year loans averaged 2.97 percent last week.)
Nationally, 30-year (3.66) and 15-year (2.94) fixed rates matched record lows.
