Mortgage Rates Drop: 30-year at 4.37 percent

A little relief this week, unrelated to the weather: fixed mortgage rates finally dipped, with national averages for 30-year loans at 4.37 percent and 15-year loans at 3.41 percent, according to information released this morning by Freddie Mac.
A week ago, 30-year averaged 4.51 percent, 15-year 3.53 percent.
The numbers in New England:

This week
30-year: 4.40 percent
15-year: 3.44 percent

Last week:
30-year: 4.51 percent
15-year: 3.54 percent

A year ago
30-year: 3.56 percent
15-year: 2.84 percent
