Mortgage Rates Push Toward Yearly Highs

With signs that the economy is improving, along with encouraging news in housing and manufacturing, mortgage rates pushed toward the year’s highs with 30-year rates averaging 4.57 percent nationally and 15-year rates at 3.59 percent, according to data supplied Thursday by Freddie Mac.
A week ago, 30-year rates averaged 4.51 percent and 15-year rates averaged 3.54 percent.

30-year: 4.58 percent
15-year: 3.59 percent

Last week
30-year: 4.58 percent
15-year: 3.60 percent

A year ago
30-year: 3.57 percent
15-year: 2.86 percent
