Mortgage rates held firm in the past week, with national averages for 30-year loans at 3.38 percent and 15-year loans at 2.66 percent, according to figures released Thursday morning by Freddie Mac.
The 30-tear rates were down slightly from the previous week (3.4 percent). The 15-year rates were unchanged.
Here are the numbers from New England:

This week:
30-year: 3.43 percent
15-year: 2.72 percent

Last week:
30-year: 3.44 percent
15-year: 2.71 percent

A year ago
30-year: 3.88 percent
15-year: 3.17 percent
