Mortgage Rates Up Slightly; 30-Year At 3.39 Percent

The average 30-year fixed-rate mortgage moved ever slighly higher nationally in the past week to 3.39 percent, up from 3.36, according to figures released Thursday by Freddie Mac. The average 15-year rate also increased, to 2.70 percent, after reaching 2.69 percent the previous week.

Here are New England’s numbers:

This week:
30-year: 3.42 percent
15-year: 2.72 percent

Last week:
30-year: 3.39 percent
15-year: 2.71 percent

A year ago
30-year: 4.12 percent
15-year: 3.37 percent
