No Landline Service (Or 911) For 2 Weeks In No-Cell Zone: Was AT&T Out Of Touch?
Today’s Bottom Line column:
In case of emergency, Joyce and Dennis Custer had few options last month after losing AT&T landline phone service in their West Granby home for more than two weeks.
“I am surrounded on three sides by state forest,” says Joyce Custer. “Cellphones do not work here.”
So no cellphone service, no AT&T landline service and no 911 service. In case of emergency? The Custers could scream loudly out the back door, buy an air horn or run wildly into the woods. They’d feel a lot safer with 9-1-1 service.
The Custers contacted AT&T multiple times, but when the outage continued they contacted The Bottom Line.
