An old scam that preys on old people. . . .

Here’s a report from The Courant’s Christine Dempsey:

Four men stole at least $10,000 in cash from a couple in their 80s after two of them got into their house by posing as water company workers.

The incident happened on Hubbard Road in the South End about 7 p.m. Monday — a day when crews from the Metropolitan District Commission had working in the area, said Lt. Brian Foley. No one was injured.
