Where To Find No-Strings Free Checking: Credit Unions

Trouble finding a legitimate free checking account? You have to know where to look, starting with credit unions.
According to a new survey released Monday by Bankrate.com, 72 percent of the country’s largest credit unions offer free checking with no minimum-balance requirements.
That’s down from 76 percent a year ago, but Bankrate.com says only 45 percent of banks are now offering free-checking with no minimum-balance requirements.
