Why I Love Apple’s Unsung AirPort Express

That’s five iPhones in five years. Coming next: Yet another iPad, the rumored Mini.
If longevity is a gauge of technological and design excellence, however, the AirPort Express could be Apple’s most perfect product. When Apple in June quietly updated the AirPort Express with a new body (the Apple TV’s chassis), the little wireless networking product essentially had been the same block of white bird suet introduced in mid-2004.
The AirPort Express is Apple’s divine jack-of-all-electronics: an audio streamer, a USB printer sharing device, a home network extender and a portable travel router, still less than $100.
