The White House reports that today at 11, Vice President Biden will meet with the House Democratic Task Force on gun violence. U.S. Rep. Elizabeth Esty, 5th, will be at the meeting along with Rep. Mike Thompson (CA); Rep. Bobby Scott (VA); Rep. Chaka Fattah (PA); Rep. Carolyn McCarthy (NY); Rep. Jackie Speier (CA); Rep. William Enyart (IL); Rep. Ed Perlmutter (CO); Rep. Bennie Thompson (MS); Rep. John Conyers (MI); Rep. John Dingell (MI); Rep. Ron Barber (AZ). Attorney General Eric Holder, Sec. Kathleen Sebelius and Sec. Janet Napolitano will also join the session.

Jesse Jackson is pushing a coordinated attack against the gun manufacturers akin to the war on cigarettes with a massive payout to the states based on murder victims etc. At least its a new angle and a wonderful attempt to make gun violence a criminal-less crime
right, the same Jesse Jackson who has nothing EVER to say about the crime statistics in Chicago and how much they reflect black-on-black crime.
The only ‘leaders’ worse than the politicians are those self-appointed leaders of the black community.
This is excellent and very impressive that Congresswoman Esty is at the table in this,her 1st term.

If the Democrats in Congress/Administration had 1% of the passion for our budget woes as they do for social causes like gun control our fiscal problems would be over.

Meanwhile, in the urban wastelands of our great society, people will continue to get shot with reckless abandon. But then again, who cares about them- their Democrat votes have long been sewn up, right?
