Blumenthal on Murphy: ‘I think Of Him First In the Morning.’
From Bill Clinton to Al Franken to Barbara Mikulski, top Democrats are turning out to help Senate hopeful Chris Murphy.
But it’s likely that none of Murphy’s backers are taking the race as personally as Sen. Richard Blumenthal.
“I think of him first thing in the morning when I awake, after I look across the bed and see Cynthia,” Blumenthal said in a brief phone interview Friday morning, just a few hours before he was due to join Murphy at a campaign stop at a Stamford retirement home. “I know the pounding he’s going to take that day…I know what he’s going through.”
After all, it was just two years ago that Blumenthal was on the receiving end of Republican Linda McMahon’s aggressive campaign. McMahon lost to Blumenthal by 12 points, despite spending $50 million of her vast fortune. Now she is back, running neck and neck with Murphy in a race to replace the retiring Sen. Joe Lieberman.
“I know what it’s like to have that amount of money being spent against you,” Blumenthal said. “ ”The phenomenon is very difficult to describe unless you’ve lived through it…[it is] the political equivalent of carpet bombing.”

I’m not touching those lines….
“I think of him first thing in the morning when I awake, after I look across the bed and see Cynthia,” Blumenthal said in a brief phone interview Friday morning, just a few hours before he was due to join Murphy at a campaign stop at a Stamford retirement home. “I know the pounding he’s going to take that day
I’m thinking Murphy is more than a generation younger than Blumenthal…
Poor Blumenthal. Poor Murphy. They both know what each other had to deal with running against McMahon.
Poor Vietnam Vet Blumnethal, after a lifetime of being able to lie through his teeth without challenge, McMahon dared to provide indisputable evidence that he is a liar. The horror. Of course, what is a little lying about war service among slavishly Democrat electorate.
And Poor Self Described Independent Murphy. With his record of voting with his party 98% of the time. Poor Murphy, who gets sued twice for non-payment of rent and mortgage, yet still gets a loan of any kind, never mind a lower rate than average loan. Poor Murphy who accuses McMahon of lying about his committe attendance after fact-checkers flat out said McMahon is right and Murphy is lying. How dare McMahon tell people about Murphy’s lies?
The sad part is the slavishly Democrat electorate will elect Murphy to go lie with Blumenthal.
Kind of makes me pine for the good old days of a free hot-tub in exchange for a year in prison.
I didn’t even know Rowland was running for office. He must be spending next to nothing on advertising.
I think of him first thing in the morning when I awake, after I look across the bed and see Cynthia,” Blumenthal said.
Odd…he would look at his wife and think of Chris Murphy.. Oh Chris….I feel your pain….sounds like Blumey is practicing for Bill Clinton’s visit…..
Al Frankin won a senate seat when extra ballots were “discovered” in someone’s trunk. Murphy will probably have extra ballots found in Bridgeport, where in the previous election in 2010, extra ballots were found in a closet in a school voting place. Where is the honesty? Murphy votes with Obama 99 percent of the time. ACORN is still around!
I’m a Republican and I watched the debates. Linda was an embarrassment to our party. She had no depth whatsoever on the issues. Furthermore I am a teacher and some of my students have reported what they saw at the WWE shows and I was appalled. Women half dressed and being pulled around by their hair??? Ladies crawling around on the stage and being told to bark like a dog while on leashes? And exactly when is Linda going to pay back that poor daughter’s father’s retirement fund that she swindled from them? The father died and his daughter now says Linda won’t answer her calls. Also, just think what Linda could have done for the people of this state with the $80,000,000 she’s spent to buy this election? She says she really cares about the “folks” from CT. REALLY??? I could go on and on. I am surprised that people are still falling for her garbage. I guess they have the same size brain she has. Is it a pea brain?
What Republican principles do you agree with?
