Two top Democrats in the Capitol are going on vacations–and at least one Republican is sending them off with some snark.
GOP Chairman Jerry Labriola Jr.–fresh off being chosen again as his party’s leader–blasted both Senate President Don Williams, who is heading to Marrakesh and Casablanca, and Gov. Dannel P. Malloy, who is bound for Nantucket.
“Certainly they share the same appetite for taxing, borrowing and spending, and it is now clear that they share the same love of travel when someone else – whether the taxpayer, a magazine or a King – is picking up the tab,” Labriola said in a statement Thursday.
He also took a shot at the Democrats’ management of the state’s economy and budget: “I hope Senator Williams will not be offering any tips on the economic policies developed in Connecticut under his and Governor Malloy’s watch – it’s not likely he’d be invited back.”
No word yet on whether Labriola has travel plans for the summer.
