Bon Vonyage?

by Categorized: Uncategorized Date:

Two top Democrats in the Capitol are going on vacations–and at least one Republican is sending them off with some snark.

GOP Chairman Jerry Labriola Jr.–fresh off being chosen again as his party\’s leader–blasted both Senate President Don Williams, who is heading to Marrakesh and Casablanca, and Gov. Dannel P. Malloy, who is bound for Nantucket.

\"Labriola

“Certainly they share the same appetite for taxing, borrowing and spending, and it is now clear that they share the same love of travel when someone else – whether the taxpayer, a magazine or a King – is picking up the tab,\” Labriola said in a statement Thursday.

He also took a shot at the Democrats\’ management of the state\’s economy and budget: \”I hope Senator Williams will not be offering any tips on the economic policies developed in Connecticut under his and Governor Malloy’s watch – it’s not likely he’d be invited back.”

No word yet on whether Labriola has travel plans for the summer.

You’d think they’s find a nice vacation spot within the confines of ‘Connecticut..Still Revolutionary’. Plenty of spots exist to unwind…but not for our elite elected officials….only the best for their overworked and tired butts…

Hah-hah! Jerry’s whining while his own Republican party members are hosting “informational forums” on the value of fluoridated water and dropping out of gubernatorial contests.

Any distraction to take the public’s attention away from the horrific mess that is your CT GOP, right, Jerry?

By the way, why do some Republican State Central Committee votes for party chairman (you!) count for more than others?? I thought this was America!!

      Lawrence of Libtardia:

You may laugh at the mess the Republican party is in but the unvarnished TRUTH is that the Democrats are doing a fine job through one party rule in accelerating the demise of this state. You turds are taxing, borrowing, and spending us into oblivion while chasing away business and landing us lots of dubious economic honors. The ultraliberal social legislation you idiots are passing hasn’t gone unnoticed either.

Wake up nitwit. You idiots are bankrupting our state in front of our eyes.

You guys still waiting for the CT GOP to ride to the rescue with an alternative tax and spending plan?

Your leaders abandoned you long ago. Time for you to move to Texas or Arkansas or wherever the cost of living is so low the state can’t even afford to educate or innoculate their students. That’s your definition of heaven, right?? Low taxes??

It’s really quite simple: You morons want the government to take more of your money, and we want them to take less. The principle of that alone shows how stupid and uneducated you are. I suppose,if you are employed within the government sector, which you selfish bastards probably are, then you just keep expecting everyone supporting your sorry asses to row harder. It’s really that simple.

You dull-witted neo-cons have too much time on your hands. you should be sent to the fields to pick grapes.

Billy is working his way up from dingleberry to full-fledged turd. Keep up the good work Billy. Not.

Still waiting for that alternative GOP budget, and for Republicans to stop embarrassing themselves with stunts like fluoridated water debates. Lead, follow, or get out of the way. So far I see a lot of posing and double-talk from the “fiscally conservative” CT GOP. Take a tour through the Republican legislature’s online news releases — the ‘free’ state money they are touting for their towns might surprise you. At least Democrats have the guts to vote for it. Meanwhile, Labriola is re-elected in what seems like some kind of a rigged process (some delegates votes count for 1.5? Really??) and his first order of business as new chairman is… to complain about a workaholic governor and part-time legislator taking a vacation ? Hint: that doesn’t resonate with the public. You’re scoring no points. People by the hundreds of thousands are fleeing their corporate offices right now to get away for a week or two now that the kids are out of school. And the GOP is criticizing someone for taking a vacation in late June? You guys just don’t get it. You think you’re connecting, but I can feel the breeze from here. Keep settin’ ‘em up, guys, and I’ll keep knockin’ ‘em down.

A counter budget by Republicans is a red herring and you know it. It has no chance of passing so why bother.

I will agree that the Republican party is a joke in this state. It is inept and should easily be able to make a case against the fiscal disaster the Democrats have created. Trotting out people like Linda is an example of the stupidity of the party. A decent candidate may have one at least one of the Senate races for the Republicans.

If we don’t restore some political balance in this state we will be the next Detroit. Take that to the bank.
