Campaign Ads Go On, Despite the Storm
Against a backdrop of images depicting the devastation wrought by Hurricane Sandy, the steady stream of political ads on television appeared jarring to NBC news anchor Brian Williams.
“In this part of the country, those who do have TV are seeing attack ads from a woman named Linda McMahon who’s running for Senate up in Connecticut – airing like nothing had changed – juxtaposed against the damage, it’s just a very strange time,” said Williams, who lives in New Canaan, though McMahon’s ads are also running in the New York TV market.
McMahon campaign spokesman Todd Abrajano said the candidate has no plans to pull the ads, despite the crisis brought on by Hurricane Sandy.
“We’re not the only ones who have campaign ads running,”Abrajano said. “Outside groups are…running negative ads against us. We’re not going to take our messaging down while were being attacked on the air.”

NBC complaining ONLY about McMahon ads, without a word about Murphy ads. Go figure. Consider this further proof of the media dishonety and duplicity that should outrage citizens seeking objectivity so they can make INFORMED decisions during this most crucial of presidential elections.
Brian Williams could be Candy Crowley in disguise – you never see them together do you?
We live in a world of precision instruments today.
Very Competitive, We live in a world of specialists.
You don`t see a foot doctor for a mental problem.
Chris Murphy is a United States Congressman;
Linda McMahon is an Old Carnival Barker, that`s just the way it is.
She clearly illustrates having nothing intellectually to offer Connecticut in terms of a United States Senator. This is nothing but an empty facade; Behind Linda McMahon’s eyes exists a vast void. Personally, I don’t think she has the capacity for the level of intelligence, or thought to perform as a United States Senator ; And I think her level of abstract thought and reasoning belongs on children`s television, Saturday Mornings. One day Linda McMahon is designing the next gimmick and theme of the next TV Wrestler; And the next day she`s discussing defense contracts and budget issues with The Department of Defense ? ! ?
You can put lipstick on an old Carnival Barker, and what have you got? An old carnival barker wearing lipstick !
Is this the best the Republican Party can put forth in Connecticut ? Linda McMahon ?
What do the old Republican Stalwarts think of this ?
We live in a world of precision instruments today.
Very Competitive, We live in a world of specialists.
You don`t see a foot doctor for a mental problem.
Chris Murphy is a United States Congressman and a lifer politician who knows nothing about money management or creating jobs and has been part of the problem that has led to 12-14% unemployment. In other words, he’s a foot doctor, not a businessman.
If you want jobs, you need someone running things who knows about jobs and working for a living instead of sucking off taxpayer money while making decisions that only screw up the economy.
Your own twisted logic is working against you Ian. You want a specialist then pretend that’s what Murphy is. You’re right – he is a specialist. He specializes in making a living off taxpayer money while providing nothing useful to the citizens in return. CT needs jobs. By your logic, Chris is not the man to provide those jobs.
Of the two candidates, only one of them has a record of creating jobs. She can wear all the lipstick she wants, and you can call her any name (such as Carnival barker) that YOU want, but it doesn’t change the fact that she has the experience to create jobs.
She also knows how to manage money (when she has it).
Time to see your foot doctor, Ian, and have him remove YOURS from your mouth
McMahon employs what? 600 people with WWE? How many Subs do they build? How does this improve rail service? What is Linda McMahon`s education level? Do you think she manages her business and her monies herself ? Check her ad; McMahon speaks to a business she ” helped create “.
Perhaps McMahon can increase her staffing 10 fold, to 6000.
The profound dissaster we just had will prove to be enlightening; Our seasoned politicians, who know their way around Washington, will prove invaluable in bringing appropriat aide to Connecticut.
What political or community experience does McMahon have beyond PTA please ?
YOU CANNOT jump from Carnival Barker to United States Senator, representing Connecticut, without having some knowlege of how Government works!
Please get a grip. Watch McMahon when put on the spot about real nuts and bolts buisiness, government, and managerial issues. She hasn`t got a clue, and is only weeks away from the drooling on her bib in the day room of the rest home. This is quite a departure from the polished commercial image McMahon presents on TV. No, Linda McMahon hasn`t got a clue, and has no place on the floor of The United States Senate.
you sound silly and desperate Ian. There is no reason or logic in your post or your questions. Why on earth would Linda build subs and rail service? Do you do these things? For that matter, how many of these things has Chris Murphy personally built?
What political experience does Chris Murphy have besides holding a taxpayer funded job for 6 years? What good has that experieince done for anyone but him? What did Chris Murphy jump FROM before becoming a Senator? Perhaps if he had started as a carnival barker it would have provided him with SOME level of experience at SOMETHING other than getting paid by taxpayers.
“One day Linda McMahon is designing the next gimmick and theme of the next TV Wrestler; And the next day she`s discussing defense contracts and budget issues with The Department of Defense ? ! ?”
Here’s a more appropriate question: One day Obama is playing golf and girl-talking on The View, the next day he’s……..On Leno? On Letterman? Lying about Benghazi? Watching our ambassadors get killed instead of acting like a commander in chief and sending in the cavalry? Everything but On The Job.
Love to see your comparison on Murphy vs Murphy. “one day he’s selling his votes to banking interests that he regulates, the next day he’s…..what? Missing meetings? Missing payments and blaming his girlfriend?
‘Shallow’, ‘dishonest’ and ‘non-productive’ seem to be your only requirements for both Senator and President
” ‘Shallow’, ‘dishonest’ and ‘non-productive’ seem to be your only requirements for both Senator and President ”
You act as if this is something new.
I`ll never forget the images of when George Bush was told that our nation was under attack.
Remember President Nixon ?
You act as if only Democrats , and especially tha current president are worthy of faults.
Obama IS already the next historic great president.
Imagine if John McCain were president the last 4 years.
Remember when McCain sang ” Bomb bomb bomb – Bomb bomb Iran ” ? In child like fashion ? Oh, and McCain was the sort of ” Seasoned Senatore ” I mentioned before.
There are several web-sites that mention Chris Murphy`s accomplishments; I won`t list them on this “objective “, news web-site; Nor do I feel compelled to list them for you.
Plug ” Chris Murphy accomplishments ” into your browser`s search engin yourself; Then do the same for Linda McMahon. Compare the two; Who does for themselves, and who does for others?
why do you continue to drag past presidents into the convesation? could it be because attacking others is the only thing that Obama (and Murphy) can offer? No one is disputing the bad qualities of any other president or senator. We’re struggling to find good qualities for this one.
Obama is the next historic president all right – he’ll be taking over the title of ‘worst american president’ from Jimmy Carter. And when history digs into his files, you’ll probably learn just how deep his plans to destroy this country are and were, and just how much he hates the American system of government – the same government that gave him the opportunity to lead. An opportunity which he has missed, by the way. Leadership requires more than words and campaigning, it requires actual substance. It requires upholding the values of the constitution, not trying to destroy that document.
As far as ‘doing for themselves’ goes, is it your contention that Chris Murphy continual campainggn to hold office is more for others than for himself? That he is being altruistic? If that’s the case, perhaps he’ll consider working for free and giving up his percs and salary. If he won’t give these things up, doesn’t that qualify for a level of selfishness that you are so desperately trying to attribute to Linda McMahon?
She works to get paid. So does Chris. This is different HOW? It’s different in one very important aspect from a taxpayer perspective: she has created jobs.
Your flailing about is looking more and more desperate and sad. But then, that comes with the blind support of Murphy
Dearest Kim,
Are you trying to tell us it`s time you went inpatient again for medications ajustments?
Who is the ‘us’ you are referring to, Ian? Are your multiple personalities active again? But I need the meds, right?
You know perfectly well what I’m telling you (not ‘trying’ – ‘telling’) about Obama/Murphy and the other Dems. You just don’t know how to reasonably respond so you resort to your tried-and-tried, liberal-inspired, diversionary tactics and personal references about meds etc.
It’s fairly clear what YOU are trying to tell us, Ian: your liberal support is a house of cards
