Bill Clinton will come to Connecticut in late October to campaign with Chris Murphy.

The former president, one of the most in-demand Democrats on the campaign circuit this fall, will visit the state on Sun., Oct. 28, according to a source. The location has yet to be determined, but Clinton will appear at a public campaign rally, the source said.

Clinton has been criss-crossing the country to support President Obama; the fact that he’s making a stop in Connecticut just 10 days before the election is an indication of how much importance national Democrats are placing on the Connecticut Senate race.

One more reason to vote for Linda

    • Matthew Oakes says:

Which reason? Her rewarding convicted sex offenders (a convicted rapist) and racists? Works for me!

      • Tony P says:

Wow,and Chris Murphy hires a man who was charged with a sexual assault and paid the women $850,000 to shut up.
If he was innocent why the payoff?
        Guilty!

    • George says:

Didn’t take long for the boo birds to show up.

  3. Chris Healy says:

Murphy and Clinton – two peas in a pod – in more ways than one.

    • Matthew Oakes says:

Wow I hope you aren’t pulling a “Linda McMahon” and trying to imply something that isn’t true.

    • George says:

Hmmphf….how about that McMahon – first she says that the “Next Five program” is corporate welfare, now she’s lining up the company to get millions in grants.

Maybe people of Connecticut should watch THIS before voting?

    • George says:

Hey Chris, so when are you getting your buddies bush and Cheney here to campaign for McMahon? I’m sure if one conducted a poll measuring the relative levels of respect Clinton, bush, and Cheney have among the general public you’d find your two guys falling off the bottom of the chart.

  4. joe867 says:

Desperate acts, by a desperate man. This guy didn’t even to bother to show up for work seventy eight percent of the time, and now he’s looking for a look term posting and a bad payday. These civil servants are only serving them selves.

    • AndersonScooper says:

      Hey Joe,

Do you really think the best use of a congressperson’s time is to sit through hours and hours and hours of public testamentary? Because I don’t. I mean that’s what staff, transcripts and summaries are there for!

Linda is basically floating a big lie, as sitting through those hearings has nothing to do with job performance, particularly not for a junior member of Congress.

Finally please notice that Linda hasn’t pledged not to miss no more than 20% of all hearings, were she to be elected… (only a fool would!)

      • Sharpshooter says:

Hey Anderson….with that attitude toward public responsibilities, I’m glad you’re not running for public office

    • Matthew Oakes says:

The really sad thing here is how easily you are mislead. I pity you but support your right to vote, sadly.

    • Saddle says:

YOU don’t know that he didn’t “show up for work”. You are simply echoing Linda and her myriad of talking points. Did it ever occur to you to look it up? It is a matter of public record. He was there 97% of the time and when he wasn’t, he was in his district talking to citizens. Deal with facts, not propaganda from opponents. If you really care, that is.

    • joe867 says:

      So Mr. Anderson,
What is the best use of a Congressman’s time? Playing golf, raising money for his next campaign. In Mr. Murphy’s case it’s one of not serving the people he made a commitment to.

    • George says:

It’s customary for a congressman’s staff attend most sub-committee hearings, which are more numerous than regular committee hearings. These were lumped in to the total. What would be interesting would be if McMahon listed the attendance records of ALL congressmen – I believe you’d find Murphy’s record doesn’t differ much from that of his peers.

Of course, we’ll never see those numbers, they don’t do the opportunist McMahan any good.

  5. annie says:

i hear bush is coming to campaign for linda. that should help.

  6. Erik Smith says:

Did Monica move to CT or something??

    • bill m says:

If Linda asked Monica lewinski to appear..that.. would be perfect..then again, Bill probrobly already called her to appear backstage.

  7. Jeff Wright says:

Proof positive that Linda’s message is resonating with the voters. The day of the ” I know what’s good for you ” crowd is drawing to a close.

Rather odd though that Murphy would bring in a serial womanizer and marriage cheat to buff his credentials.

Clearly the concept of a woman’s advocate is different in Chris Murphy’s house than in mine. Just ask my wife.

    • AndrewM says:

Are you serious? You know that he did a lot more than just that one thing. He was one of the most successful presidents in U.S. history, and he created more jobs in office than any other President. And even with his marital issues, he is still in the Top 5 in nearly every public opinion poll of presidents. He’s one of the most influential men of all time and truly an inspiration. And he believes in Chris Murphy. Why don’t you actually listen to something Clinton has to say sometime. Because if, so many years later, the best thing you can come up with is Monica Lewinsky, then you’re making a sad case, my friend.

  8. Lee says:

My Gawd a left wing paper endorse Romney. I wonder if the Hartford Courant will come to their senses.
“ORLANDO, Fla. – Mitt Romney, who often grouses that he is simultaneously running against President Obama and the mainstream media, will be greeted upon his arrival in Florida on Friday by a headline with which he cannot quarrel: The Orlando Sentinel is endorsing him.

Four years after The Sentinel, central Florida’s largest newspaper, endorsed Barack Obama’s candidacy for president, the newspaper’s editorial page said Mr. Romney is the better choice this time.”

  9. Sharpshooter says:

Great idea….have a disgraced, impeached, progressive president come to stump for you….who’s next Chris…Al Sharpton

  10. Richard says:

The Great Philanderer is coming to Hartford? Who’s providing the women? The Gold Club? How about a tour with the Kahoots Traveling Plexiglass Poll dancers?

Gotta invigorate the base you know.

Ever notice that Obama would never appear at the Civic Center in 2012? That some small cities used as tools during the UCC Conference in 2007 and again in 2008 are now in-the-pocket and no amount of huffing and puffing by Larson or Murphy will get Obama to appear?

    • ricbee says:

Look for Clinton´s stretch limo at the Gold Club. That´ll be his payoff.

    • George says:

I think you meant the great Philanthropist. I see you know the names of all the local strip clubs. Wonder what that’s all about?

  11. johngaltwhereru says:

Wow, the Dem’s internal polling must not be nearly as rosy as recently published polls.

I bet the DNC was not planning to have to waste monetary and Clintonian assets in Connecticut.

    • John says:

Clinton was also in Connecticut two times in 2010. Not that weird at all that he’d be here – just a short trip from his home, actually. Of course, reasons seems to fail most of the people in this comments section.

    • AndrewM says:

I don’t think they counted on a woman with no experience in public service, no grip on policy issues, but with a huge load of money spending $27 million to buy a Senate seat. Unfortunate that that kind of thing might just work these days. That’s why the Dems are using their resources to fight back. To show that maybe, just maybe, government of, for, and by the people isn’t for sale.

      • Johngaltwhereru says:

I see. You mean the Republican landslide of 2010?

Let’s be honest. Democrats would prefer if Clinton had no reason to come to Connecticut, where registered Democrats greatly outnumber registered Republicans. You can lie to yourself if you wish, but don’t try to get us involved.

  12. Happy camper says:

Thanks to Malloy and the policies of the Democratic party in Ct, the Independent voters have had enough. Wait till Nov 6 for the massive voter landslide coming this way.

  13. Jeff says:

I wonder when little George Bush will be coming into CT to campaign for Linda McMahon.Oh, that’s right, they’re hiding him. Clinton’s economic policies created millions of jobs; george Bush’s economic policies drove us into a ditch. Now who’s the job creator!!!!!

  14. jschmidt says:

Obama must have pictures of Clinton. After Obama has thrown his wife under the bus with Libya, Clinton still comes back to stump for Obama and the party. WHat a loser, just like Obama.

  15. Sad Day for Connecticut says:

Well, Bill Thrill is back in action. He is a BRILLIANT man but one with a serious character flaw. He lied straight out to America, ” I did not have sex with that woman “. Well he did. And then tried to define the meaning of the word ” is “, in front of God and Country, in the process insulting us all. Liars Bill Clinton and Ted Kennedy, gifts by the Demoncratic Party to America. Think we can do better ?

  16. Jennifer says:

Wonderful news!! It was an amazing experience to see him for Election 2010.

  17. kathy says:

Clinton is extremely popular and gave one of the greatest speeches at the DNC ever. Folks love him. Hope I get a chance to meet him.

  18. Don Pesci says:

Here is the open question: When Mr. Clinton visits Connecticut sometime around the 28th of October, will he be asked by Connecticut’s fearless media any questions that might incommode him or Mr. Obama re-election effort? Or can we expect, as usual, the usual fluff? http://donpesci.blogspot.com/2012/10/clinton-in-connecticut.html#more
