Connecticut Republican Chairman Jerry Labriola Jr. is confident the  party will be able to get its message out, despite a storm-shortened schedule that resulted in the cancellation of most of Monday’s program at the Republican National Convention in Tampa.

Labriola will hold a conference call with the Connecticut delegation Sunday morning at 9. As of now, a planned reception at Tropicana field Sunday night is still on, but convention organizers will know more about the storm’s track in the next day or so, Labriola said in a brief phone interview from Tampa Saturday night.

Labriola agreed with Mitt Romney, who said a three-day convention was long enough for the party to spread its message and generate excitement about its presidential ticket.

“Some time this week, we will nominate two great candidates,” Labriola said. “We will give this ticket a nice bump…we will reintroduce Mitt Romney to the electorate and will come out of Tampa with a lot of energy.”
