The one-time 5th District frontrunner hasn’t endorsed primary winner Elizabeth Esty and he hasn’t said whether he plans to run as a third party candidate. It’s not hard to see why Andrew Roraback is smiling these days.

Donovan’s campaign spokesman, Gabe Rosenberg, said only that “Chris is going to go on vacation and the campaign will not have any comment until he returns.” Asked how long Donovan will be vacationing, Rosenberg said, “I really don’t know.”

It is time for unity the people have spoken! It is time to come together and keep this seat period.Lets get behind Elizabeth Esty and do what we need to do to get her elected. We do not need another right winger in Congrees dividing our country and causing more gridlock.

I would have preferred to see Chris Donovan endorse Elizabeth Esty in his primary night speach. On the other hand, I don’t think that party unity is in any danger for now, as long as he takes his name off the WCF line on the ballot.

If he runs as a third party candidate, he risks handing the election to Roarback. Esty is clearly the better choice for progressives in this race. I think that Donovan will be able to understand that and endorse her soon.

Chris…please run on a third party ticket backed by the unions….you can do it…
