Among the package of post-Newtown gun-control bills that cleared the legislature’s public safety committee Tuesday was a measure that revises the law relating to hunting under the influence of liquor or drugs.

Senate Bill 897 states that no person shall carry a loaded firearm if their blood-alcohol level is .08 or higher.

The bill would also require organizers of gun shows to notify the state commissioner of emergency services and public protection as well as local authorities of the gun show within 30 days of the event.
