The four candidates competing in the 5th District Republican primary are spending a lot of time and money highlighting an issue they all agree on.

Congressional candidates Justin Bernier, Mark Greenberg, Andre Roraback and Lisa Wilson-Foley concur that President Barack Obama’s health care law should be repealed, but they still are running television advertisements, sending out mailers and distributing palm cards that mention the law.

“All four of them are using it to their advantage,” said Gary Rose, a political science professor at Sacred Heart University in Fairfield. “It’s all the same message… It’s coming down to who can say it the loudest.”

The message is important, Rose said, but it doesn’t differentiate the candidates.
