Greenberg Hammers Wilson-Foley, Roraback In 3rd Ad
Republican congressional candidate Mark Greenberg takes aim at two of his three 5th District opponents in his new television ad — his third one this campaign season.
During the 30-second ad, Republican Lisa Wilson-Foley is described as a former registered Democrat who gave money to liberal politicians like Democrat Chris Murphy.
Murphy currently represents the 5th District and is running for U.S. Senate.
Wilson-Foley was a registered Democrat in the 1990s, but switched her party affiliation to Republican by 2000. In the past, Wilson-Foley did make contributions to the congressional campaigns of at least two Democrats: U.S. Rep. John Larson and Murphy.
The ad also says Wilson-Foley once promoted the president’s health care law.
During her failed 2010 bid for lieutenant governor, Wilson-Foley said that the president’s health care law would provide an opportunity to create jobs. She has since said that she has always believed the law was bad and costly.
If she had become lieutenant governor, Wilson-Foley said she would have had to learn how to live with the law. As a member of Congress, she said, she would have the opportunity to try to change it.
Greenberg’s ad describes Republican Andrew Roraback as a career politician in the advertisement who supports higher taxes — taking aim at Roraback’s legislative voting record.
The fourth candidate competing in the 5th District Republican primary is Justin Bernier. He was not mentioned in Greenberg’s new ad.

It’s a good ad. Lisa Foley seems like someone who would do anything, switch parties, etc. to get elected.
It more than seems like it. She IS someone who would say or do anything to get elected. She hopes she can cover her past by throwing big piles of money around. The scary thing is that some of the party establishment seems to have fallen for it.
If you think that elder care is expensive now, just imagine what it would cost if she was elected! She’s not loyal to any party, unless it’s the “Apple Rehab” party.
