Lee Atwater Lives: McMahon\’s Purple T Shirt Trick

by Categorized: Uncategorized Date:

From Brian Dowling:

Two McMahon supporters outside a polling location on Howard Avenue in New Haven wore purple T shirts over sweaters and coats. The shirts read \”I support Obama & McMahon November 6\” and appeared to be styled after similar shirts often worn by Service Employees International Union. They said that they were sent to New Haven from Bridgeport this morning, and that the campaign is paying them for their work at the polls — how much, however, is unclear. Similarly dressed workers could be seen all over the Elm City Tuesday, as the McMahon campaign placed supporters at the polls to encourage voters to split their ticket for Obama and McMahon.
