Before he was hired to run Linda McMahon’s 2012 U.S. Senate campaign, Corry Bliss managed Republican Brian Dubie’s bid for governor of Vermont.

Now Dubie is being sued by the Vermont attorney general for allegedly sharing information with the Republican Governors Association, in violation of the state’s campaign finance rules.

Bliss wasn’t named in the lawsuit. But according to an article in Tuesday’s Burlington Free Press by reporter Terri Hallenbeck, Bliss testified under oath that he communicated regularly with the RGA’s regional field director and “agreed to share Dubie’s polling information with the association.”

Bliss did not return a phone call seeking comment. But Erin Isaac, spokeswoman for the McMahon campaign, sent the following statement via email: “The case referenced deals with complex campaign finance law as indicated by the article. Please note that Corry is in no way involved in this lawsuit,” she said.

It’s not the first controversy Bliss became ensnared in during his time in Vermont. Last year, he settled a lawsuit with a developer who had accused him of libeling his character during the 2010 gubernatorial campaign. Bliss and Dubie both wrote letters of apology to settle the case.

Bliss came to Vermont by way of Virginia and, apparently, his style rubbed some Republicans in the Green Mountain state the wrong way. They still blame him for Dubie’s loss.

“Corry Bliss took a candidate that was up 20 points and turned him into a loser by election day,” said Bradford Broyles, a Republican activist from Mendon, a town in the central part of the state, near Killington. “We’re still repairing the damage to the Republican party…If Corey Bliss runs [McMahon's campaign] like he did up here, hold on to your seats.”

As a Vermonter who lives in Hartford now I’ve witnessed Corry Bliss in action, I’ll second what is said in the story. Bliss was never tired of being wrong. He executed a horrible campaign taking a beloved incumbant and trashed him. Why would the McMahon campaign take on a arrogant and deeply flawed operative who has lost a congressional race and a governors race?

You’d think with McMahons money, they’d get somebody who has actually won something besides the attention of the Vermont Attorney General.

Obama doomed himself to those paying attention, 2 years of the Dems in control – they could pass anything they wanted, nothing got done! Shovel ready jobs were a joke! His bailout was a Joke! ObamaCare that taxes for 10 years and gives benefits for 6 years (So the “COST” would work….ANYONE paying attention to that?)

Here we are 3 years of BHO and were $5 TRILLION more in debt, that’s a 50% increase, the largest ever!!! Our Great Great grandchildren will be paying the bills for the BHO’s unlimited spending and the press is silent! George W was a bad dude, he spent $800 Million in 8 years and the press was all over him as big spender, out of control….Obama spent $5 TRILLION in 3 years!!!!!!! $5 Trillion – we have no jobs, we have a bad economies, we have a housing crisis, we have a HUGE bill to pay for Obama’s spending that did not work. You need to ask yourself if the Press has a clue!

Why is the media giving Obama a pass card as Obama buries the country in a mountain of debt that will make the USA the next Greece that can not payit’s bills. If the interest rates rise back to normal levels, 4-5% the amount of new debt we have will take 50 to 60% of every tax dollar and use it to pay the interest. Said another way – No social security, No medicare, No Money! Keeping the rates low are only hiding the problem! Why is our Press silent?

[...] Connecticut’s Hartford Courant picked up on the latest in the continuing Vermont legal battle over alleged illegal coordination between the Republican Governor’s Association (RGA) and Dubie’s campaign staff. Bliss is not named in the lawsuit but was questioned about his role. Here is part of what Connecticut voters got to read about Bliss in the Green Mountains: It’s not the first controversy Bliss became ensnared in during his time in Vermont.
