Gov. Dannel P. Malloy will be in Virginia this weekend to attend the annual meeting of the National Governors Association and will lead a session on states and the “modern electric grid,” his office has announced.

The electric grid is a timely topic in the wake of two widespread blackouts in the Northeast following storms last August and October, and just recently in the mid-Atlantic states after a devastating string of thunderstorms. The topic will be discussed Saturday in a meeting of the Natural Resources Committee , with Malloy as chairman.

The weekend meeting, in Williamsburg, Va., runs Friday afternoon through Sunday morning.

One Response to Malloy Going To Virginia For Weekend Governors Meeting

Let’s hope “Dan’l” does not get waylaid by any picket lines on the way to Virginia. The “modern electric grid” – that’s a good one. How about “How deregulation screwed every ratepayer in Connecticut?”?
