Markley To Convene Informational Hearing on Fluoride in Drinking Water

by Categorized: Uncategorized Date:

Do we need fluoride in our drinking water?

For most public health officials, the answer is yes. But state Sen. Joe Markely wants to make sure.

Markley was recently compiling a list of unfunded state mandates on municipalities when he learned about the state\’s water fluoridation policy, which requires fluoride levels of  between 0.8 mg per liter and 1.2 mg per liter in public water supplies serving 20,000 people or more.

Markley believes the decision about adding fluouride ought to be left to local control. One town in his district, Southington, spends between $10,000 and $20,000, he said.

Markley filed a bill in the 2013 legislative session to end the mandate. (Read the CTNewsJunkie account of the bill here.) Even though his proposal failed to win passage, Markley said it generated a lot of comment.

\”I was surprised by the response to the bill, both from advocates and from opponents of fluoridation,” Markley said. “Each side offered arguments which sounded credible to me; further research revealed that the debate is lively, persistent, and widespread.”

Markley has invited both supporters and critics of the policy to present their case at the hearing, which will be held at 11 a.m. on Wed., June 26 at the legislative office building.

If there is a noon hearing on how vaccinations cause autism and a one pm on the Sandy Hook false flag operation, then the Markley tinfoil hat party would be nicely rounded out.

For someone who really is pretty intelligent, why he makes a circus out of himself is beyond me.

Here is a thought: how about the people who want to put floride in the water make the case so people choose it. From there, people will decide on the merits of it themselves.

Why is it that government makes this decision for us?

If floride is such a great idea, people will choose it. If people do not choose it, then it is something that they do not want for their reasons: rational or not.

By the way, dentists do not advise using toothpaste with floride in it with young children, as they may ingest it.

Clean eating is not a new concept! Nor is it a fad diet to shed weight. Clean eating is about sticking to what is closest to natural products and avoid processed foods that come out of a box. It’s not about restricting what you eat, but rather about making conscious choices to eat better quality foods. This means more natural products and less chemicals and additives. Although some people may be able to jump right into clean eating and never look back, most need to ease into this lifestyle. A sure way to get started is to firstly drink more water; secondly eliminate processed foods; thirdly balance your meals; and finally control portion size.

    Dr. Strangelove (1964)

General Jack D. Ripper: Mandrake, do you realize that in addition to fluoridating water, why, there are studies underway to fluoridate salt, flour, fruit juices, soup, sugar, milk… ice cream. Ice cream, Mandrake, children’s ice cream.

Group Capt. Lionel Mandrake: [very nervous] Lord, Jack.

General Jack D. Ripper: You know when fluoridation first began?

Group Capt. Lionel Mandrake: I… no, no. I don’t, Jack.

General Jack D. Ripper: Nineteen hundred and forty-six. 1946, Mandrake. How does that coincide with your post-war Commie conspiracy, huh? It’s incredibly obvious, isn’t it? A foreign substance is introduced into our precious bodily fluids without the knowledge of the individual. Certainly without any choice. That’s the way your hard-core Commie works.

Since less than 1% of household water volume is used for consumption, fluoridation literally pours taxpayer dollars down the drain. That is a fact- regardless of your position on the issue.

I guess the National Research Council and EPA (and thousands of scientists, doctors, dentists, nurses) are all conspiracy theorists.

Several scientists from the National Research Council who researched for 3 years and produced the 500 page report for the EPA: “Fluoride in Drinking Water: A Scientific Review” 2006, have called for a ban on water fluoridation because of known and anticipated health damage. Senior scientists from the EPA have also called for a ban. Dr. Kathleen Thiessen, National Research Council panel member for the 2006 EPA report has written specifically on the topic in her report “General Comments on Fluoridation of Drinking Water for Prevention of Dental Caries” 2011. Here is an excerpt:

“The proposed HHS recommendation for water fluoridation at 0.7 mg/L is not adequate to protect against known or anticipated adverse effects and does not allow an adequate margin of safety to protect young children, people with high water consumption, people with kidney disease (resulting in reduced excretion of fluoride), and other potentially sensitive population subgroups….
…It is irresponsible to recommend addition of fluoride, or a particular concentration of fluoride to be added, without a comprehensive review of the substances (H2SiF6 or Na2SiF6,) that are actually added. In addition, fluoridation chemicals often contain impurities such as lead and arsenic, for which EPA has set MCLGs of zero (EPA 2006), such that a water supplier is actually adding contaminants for which the ideal maximum amount in drinking water is zero.

In summary, it is irresponsible to promote or encourage uncontrolled exposure of any population to a drug that, at best, is not appropriate for many individuals (e.g., those who do not want it, those whose water consumption is high, formula-fed infants, people with impaired renal function) and for which the risks are inadequately characterized and inadequately disclosed to the public. Elimination of community water fluoridation at the earliest possible date would be in the best interest of public health.”

I live in Michigan, born in this state in 1944,a nurse. I had my first bone density done when I turned 65 yrs old. I found out I have moderate Osteoporosis of my spine and Osteopenia of my wrists and hips. The doctor wanted to put me on Fosamax 20mgs per week at a cost of $35 a pill. I called a Pharmacy PH.D friend. He said don’t take it , its made out of high dose of Fluoride, causes a hydrofluorosilcic acid slush when given as prescribed with 8 oz’s of water, if that backs up into your esophogus you will get cancer of the esophogus! No cure! I said, well from what I have studied about Fluoride and Fosamax, it blocks the Osteoblasts the bone building cells inside the bones, making the bones and teeth hollow inside and then relayers the bones and teeth , irregularly, making the bones brittle and much more easily broken! So, now that I know it is made out of the toxic industrial grade fluorsilicic acid ,why would I have take Fosamax that the Fluoridated water and Fluoride treatments at the Dentists office probably caused my Osteoporosis and my Hypothyroidism because Fluoride blocks Iodine and thyroxine also because it is Endocrine disruptor and it is a bio accumulative! It is now in 300 foods and drinks and they are even giving fluroidated water to babies, and applying toxic doses of gel or vanish fluroide to children. After working in the medical field for 46 years and having access to the PDR on drugs prescribed by doctors and dentists, I know that it is very possible that what they are doing is giving a highly toxic neurotoxin via our water and food ,( it is unconstitutional in our country to treat the masses with a drug via their food and water without the consent of the people), so I say, if a dentist can get a city to fluoridate their water, he will be building a residual income of Cosmetic Dentistry! Because, a child fluoridated will have various side affects depending on the dose of fluoride in the water and depending on whether that dentist flurodates that childs gums or teeth in his office or via the your states dental clinics, and depending on how much accumulates over time to ‘create” Dental and Skeletal Fluorosis” Which is now called by the doctors “Osteoporosis” and 100,000 are given expensive Hip and Knee Replacements every year again for profit ……Dental Fluorosis cause ‘dental fractures” requiring root canals and crowns, at about $1800 a tooth! Or in order to correct the damage done to the teeth , they have to ‘veneer each tooth to correct the childs “smile”. Dentists are still implanting ‘amalgam which is loaded with another neurotoxin Mercury! No I say they have been creating dental and skeletal fluorosis and hypothyroidism and GERD for money and to continue to practice with no thought in mind what dangerous chemcials they are using on their patients……Fluroide also reduces the IQ 5-20 pts making a society of low income Americans , who can’t add , read or write and certainly can’t get into college…..1 in 38 have Autism , ADHD, and then all of the SSI”s drugs they give them are all made out of this Fluoride chemical . WE Americans are being poisoned with the RAT Poison being put into our water, our prescribed drugs , baby foods , drinks , water , yes it was used as a Rat Poison, and it is now being imported from China who themselves will not fluroidate their people, due to the above information that they have proven in many studies they have done. The problem is in our country , Clinical Studies can not be done on Children, so hence no Peer Review Studies has been done on this water fluroidation, however it was started in Grand Rapids , Michigan as a peer Review study on children and then they forgot they couldn’t do such a study so the closed it down and now advocate water fluoridation because they made a mistake in doing it so masseive water fluoridation went underway to cover it all up …..This is the best article I have read and I refer to it many times….. 1944 The October 1944 issue of the Journal of the American Dental Association cautions that “knowledge of the subject does not warrant the introduction of fluorine in community water supplies generally. Sodium fluoride is a highly toxic substance, and while its applications in safe concentrations, and under strict control by competent personnel, may prove to be useful therepeutically, under other circumstances it may definitely be harmful. To be effective, fluorine must be ingested into the system during the years of tooth development, and we do not yet know enough about the chemistry involved to anticipate what other conditions may be produced in the structure of the bone and other tissues of the body generally. We do know that the use of drinking water containing as little as 1.2 to 3.0 ppm of fluorine will cause such developmental disturbances in bones as osteosclerosis, spondylosis, and osteopetrosis, as well as goiter, and we cannot run the risk of producing such serious systemic disturbances in applying what is at present a doubtful procedure intended to prevent development of dental disfigurements among children … because of our anxiety to find some therapeutic procedure that will promote mass prevention of caries, the seeming potentialities of fluorine appear speculatively attractive, but, in the light of our present knowledge or lack of knowledge of the chemistry of the subject, the potentialities for harm far outweigh those for good.”

1945 An FDA Chief inspector discovers that fluorides are being added to beer by the Commonwealth Brewing Company of Massachusetts (the same state where they did experimental fluoride treatments on institutionalized children). The owner of the brewery was arrested and subjected to a Federal jury trial for poisoning the beer. The indictment charged that the beer contained “an added poison or deleterious poison, fluoride, which was unsafe within the meaning of the statute (Section 301a of the Food, Drug and Cosmetic Act), since it was a substance not required in the production of the beer, it could have been avoided by good manufacturing practice.” The fact was established that the fluoride was added in the concentration of 0.5 ppm. The jury was instructed that fluoride was established to be harmful and poisonous, and that it was unimportant to show how much beer it would take to demonstrate harmful effects. Beer was classified as a food and fluoride as a poison in 1945. The Commonwealth Brewery Company was slapped with a $10,000 fine, and Kaufmann, the owner, was given a 6 month suspended jail sentence and a three year probation period.

Wow! This is an amazing chronology. It shows that by the 1990’s the research clearly showed that fluoride was ineffective for teeth and dangerous to health. About that time Most European countries rejected it. They are now 97% fluoride free. Only 5% of the world fluoridates drinking water.

    1. jwillie6

Only 1/2 % of water is consumed and 99 1/2% is wasted directly down the drain. So spending $20,000 on fluoride means $19,900 will go directly down the drain in toilets, showers, dishwashers, etc. What a waste of tax money that is.
