It was widely reported last month that billionaire New York City Mayor Michael Bloomberg gave richly to unsuccessful Republican congressional candidate Andrew Roraback during the last cycle.

But campaign finance reports filed Tuesday show Bloomberg also funneled money to a group that heavily backed Roraback’s opponent, Democrat Elizabeth Esty.

As first reported by Politico, Bloomberg gave $50,000 to Women Vote!, the super PAC affiliated with EMILY’s List.

And Women Vote!, which backs Democratic women candidates who support abortion rights, bet big on Esty. The group spent approximately $413,000 on her behalf during a hard-fought primary with Chris Donovan and Dan Roberti, though it is unclear whether Women Vote! gave Esty money for her general election run against Roraback.
