In her quest to win over independent-minded women voters, Republican U.S. Senate candidate Linda McMahon is bringing in three big names this weekend.

Former Gov. M. Jodi Rell, along with Sens. Susan Collins of Maine and Lisa Murkowski of Alaska will attend a rally in Norwalk Saturday afternoon.

Collins is a New England Republican who serves on the homeland security committee with Sen. Joseph Lieberman, the man McMahon hopes to replace in the Senate.

Murkowski, another moderate Republican woman in the Senate, won her 2010 reelection bid after a write-in campaign.

And Rell, the state’s enormously popular former governor, has largely kept a low profile since leaving office in early 2011. However earlier this month, she endorsed Andrew Roraback, a Republican running in the 5th Congressional district.
