U.S. Senate candidate Linda McMahon also has a new ad out today. It targets her opponent, Chris Murphy, and it says McMahon will fight to protect and preserve Medicare and Social Security.

Look closely. This ad shows bill HR 3630 – The Middle Class Tax Relief and Job Creation Act of 2012:

The House voted in favor of HR 3630 by 293 to 132 including some Republicans. The Senate vote was 60 to 36 including some Republicans. President Obama signed the bill on February 22, 2012.
This law REDUCES the Social Security tax by 2 percent from 6.2 percent down to 4.2 percent.
It looks to me like this ad contains a verifiable LIE. Check it yourself and see.
