Murphy: Halt Sales Of Zombie Gun Control Lobbyist Target

by Categorized: Gun control, Newtown Date:

U.S. Sen. Chris Murphy is calling on Zombie Industries to stop selling its \”gun control lobbyist\” target — a life-sized mannequin that bleeds when shot. Murphy\’s office Wednesday released a letter to Zombie CEO Roger Davies, where he wrote:

This representation is incredibly offensive to both to the victims of gun violence and to the dedicated people who advocate for gun violence prevention, many of whom have lost loved ones to guns or are survivors themselves … These people have suffered in a way that is difficult for anyone to internalize, and their losses are impossible to truly understand. To trivialize these experiences and attempt to portray such knowledgeable, passionate people as villains is a shameless and despicable ploy to make a few bucks.

Reached at his California headquarters, Davies said the target \”doesn’t depict any person. It\’s just a zombie target. We are sensitive that people have been lost in mass shootings.\” Gun control efforts are turning \”law abiding citizens into criminals.\”

He added:

It\’s really funny that a small company in San Diego can get the attention of a congressman. I don\’t see how my target does anything to promote violence.

I manufacture zombie targets that are entertaining and designed to engage the youth shooter in a safe and responsible manner. We believe our product is a good tool to engage the youth shooter.

Here is the target that Murphy wants off the market:

\"zombie

Is it just me, or does that zombie look like Ronald Reagan? The hair and that vacuous stare… gotta be rappin’ Ronnie the zombie.

  2. Fake Thomas Jefferson

With all that is going on in the world is this what our tax dollars are providing to us? A man who should not be Senator if this is how he spends his time in service to his constituents. Wish he would do some real work.

  3. Robert

He cares about a mannequin, but doesn’t care about 631K abortions this year alone in US….

  4. johngaltwhereru

Does Mr. Murphy have any admonishments for those on his side of the argument who equate all sane, non-violent, non criminal gun owners with Adam Lanza.

  5. Really?

I’m far more offended by Chris Murphy and Malloy as they strip away our rights while sucking lobby money like cheap political whores.

It’s called freedom, Chris! You don’t need to buy it. Now stop this holier-than-though simulation of indignation and go FU$% yourself.

    1. johngaltwhereru

      Excellent post!

It is becoming clear that the modern Democrat Party has no respect for, or interest in freedom.

They want the freedom to abort at any time during a pregnancy. They want the freedom to be bought and paid for by lobby money. They want the freedom to lie without consequences. That is where it ends.

The freedom to eat and drink what you want, own the type of gun you want, purchase or not purchase what you want, make your own healthcare decisions, run your business how you see fit, worship in the way you want, express political opinions contrary to Liberalism, oppose illegal immigration, support enforcing existing laws and upholding the Constitution-FORGET IT!

In the eyes of the modern Democrat Party, we are not smart enough to make any of those decisions.

      1. Kim

        well said johngalt, as usual.

billy-the-fool again pipes in with his lack of knowledge of this country, it’s history and constitution, and the very real meaning of freedom, and replaces it with his personal, cowardly belief that government exists to protect HIM from everyone and everything.

Keep talking billy – it paints a thorough picture of your ignorance. You are the epitome of the phrase “it is better to remain silent and be thought a fool, than to open one’s mouth and remove all doubt”.

And let’s not forget his accusation against ‘circling the drain’ that he is “slithering around issues with words that you cannot prove”, while doing just that in his post. I love pointing these things out and exposing his hypocrisy and wishy-washy positions that fluctuate according to each story and his feelings on the subject.

        1. billy boggs

Kim: Need I re-post this clip from last year? Do you deny it? You are not only a sociopath, but a deviate one at that.

“Last year, the poster, Kim, was also known as Kimmerian in the Hartford Courant threads at the end of articles. If you didn’t agree with him, he became aggressive and negative as he is now. At one point, he began a repetitive invitation to a leftist-leaning poster called “The Professor” to perform fellatio on him. This outrageous demand went on for days.

I finally drew on my nascent readings of Freudian psychology and composed a portrait of Kim relating this fixation to early childhood dysfunction and a lack of maternal bonding. After I expressed this theory, Kim stopped repeating his obnoxious request. I wondered if my message had hit a home run. Apparently it did.

I contacted a psychologist friend of mine and asked her about this profile I made of Kim. She told me that although there was insufficient information to determine the origins of this abnormal request, the prospect for being correct was quite good. “

    2. billy boggs

Really? And you can go Fak yourself.

Galt: Stop your whining little man. Freedom this Freedom that. i don’t even think you understand what freedom means.

You want freedom to allow anyone to fuk you over? Well, maybe you enjoy the process but most of us want a system to protect us from predator industries.

“They’ll dose you up – on liberty
      Patriotism and misery
They’ll does you up on liberty
The drug of choice – of industry” billy boggs

Government exists to protect the people. don’t ever forget that, mister. As a libertarian, you believe in a s little government as possible. But those of us who understand know that we need regulations in order to survive.

Get off of your simpleton kick, won’t you.

      1. Johngaltwhereru

Government exists to protect the people?! B F’ing S. That was back when the Constitution was relevant to the Government.

The US Goverment, like all the other crappy rulers the Constitution was designed to avoid, exists to enrich itself and it’s leaders.

Different people view the same act as protection or an attack. The Government is not protecting “the people” as a whole when they are restricting the rights of law abiding citizens.

      2. Joe Lo

At no time in this country’s history has the government existed to protect the people. At NO time. This is a myth that you have apparently been convinced of, probably due to your lack of research. The constitution and bill of rights were designed and intended as shackles upon the government. And to try and tell somebody about freedom while you are espousing those views in your post… just pathetic.

        1. Johngaltwhereru

          Joe Lo,
I don’t know who you were responding to, but shackling the Government is protecting the people.

      3. Ken

What regulations do we need to survive today that we haven’t needed for the past 234 years? Or for that matter since forever? And what’s that to to do with a control freak lowlife clueless human turd like Murphy worrying about a target depicting fictional things?

        Carl Solomon:
Let’s discuss the social and psychological ramifications of Kimerian this morning. I believe that he exhibits passive/aggressive tendencies. In addition, his aggressiveness leads me to ruminate on  the lack of maternal love shown to him in early childhood. As a result of this lack of sufficient affection, he demands that you perform fallatio on him which signifies a need to be cuddled and controlled.  This is characteristic of an obedient bottom with anger management problems.
Kimmerian becomes a sociopath by design and his lack of early nurturing should be grounds for immediate neutering before he becomes a danger to himself and to others and before he replicates his model and avenges society for his shortcomings. His need for attention leads me to believe that he would show improvement in an institutional setting for an indefinite period of time.
As a psychologist, these are my observational findings which of course lack more complete clinical testing. We would be happy if Kimmerian would visit our Abnormal Psychology Clinic for study.

  6. Mike F.

He had credibility? When? A guy who has never had a job outside of government and couldn’t (or wouldn’t) pay his debts? We’re supposed to respect word one of what he has to say? Student loan rates are set to double, businesses are fleeing our state and this IS WHAT HE SPENDS HIS TIME ON!?!?!?!?! He should stand on the Senate floor and refuse to leave until one (at least one, even a tiny one) problem in this country is fixed. God help me, it makes me miss Chris Dodd.

  7. Bob Fortier

Chris, you are an absolute idiot that should never have been elected to the Senate. You should be ashamed of your behaviors already as a Senator. You act is though you know what is right for all Americans, while you are only a debt dodging liberal who has the IQ of probably around 120.

But don’t worry about what each and every post says about you, you have a job for life.

You are so pathetic to the average intelligence person, you realize that don’t you?

Why don’t you work on getting out of the business of running the world and also making more and more Americans and illegal aliens permanent leaches. Your folks in Washington are going to run out of money sooner or later. Oh, my mistake, we are already out of money you idiot!

      1. Common_Tator

Did you forget though? Connecticut is “Still Revolutionary!” Just like BloomingFool is still fighting the Vietnam war… ‘

To a liberal history is just something which needs to be re-written…

      2. Kim

fred, you must be a genius. As Sam Colt wasn’t born in 1814 it’s a pretty good bet that no Colts were used in the Revoluationary War. So what’s your point (this is becoming an obvious question whenever you post)

        1. fred

Yes, you are correct. Tell it to Bob Fortier who said Colt guns were used in the Revolutionary War.

          1. billy boggs

            fred:

Don’t ever tell kim that he is correct because it will go right up to his head and fill in some space. but fred, where did fortier talk about colts and the rev war? Not here.

  9. Jack

With all the pile of #$%^ that Washington is, and the enormous FISCAL problems the country has ( IT IS BROKE) , THIS CLOWN is worried about a target that obviously is NOT a real person offending real people !?!

  10. Western Front

Quoting your own lame writing, billy? You really are a loser. An oppressive loser at that.

    1. billy boggs

and you just may be a dull-witted fool. I guess you can’t decide on which name you want, Circling the Drain?

      1. Kim

yet another example of billy accusing others of what he himself is guilty of: the use of multiple names on these threads. And the truths just keep on coming

  11. Fatdady

Watch all of Chris Murphy’s bad debt vanish and in no time at all he will buying a home in Ireland like Douchebag Dodd, at our expense!
STOP DANCING AN IRISH JIG ON THE GRAVES OF DEAD KIDS and do something substantive, Mr.Murphy!

    1. Joe Lo

Isn’t it amazing that these guys get into office then the next thing you know, they’re all millionaires.

  12. Mitch

I’m still amazed that Chris Murphy was elected and sent to D.C. It just shows how Connecticut will elect almost anything or anybody. What has this senator actually accomplished since being elected? His constant whining on TV about getting assault weapons off the streets got old quickly, now it’s targets? His state, much like the country on the whole, is swirling down the drain and he is focused on this?!?!?!?!?!

  13. CT2A

Where was Senator Murphy when the DHS was purchasing targets depicting “non-traditional threats,” including pregnant women, mothers in school playgrounds, and little boys, as well as elderly gun owners in their homes.

  14. Lawren e

Of course, CT2A, DHS did not BUY those targets — the private sector company manufactured them and had them for sale online. Check your “Infowars” sources. And stop spreading BS online if you can’t back it up.

  15. Jonathan

“To trivialize these experiences and attempt to portray such knowledgeable, passionate people as villains is a shameless and despicable ploy to make a few bucks.”

Knowledgeable? You gotta be kidding me, they get debunked using government data EVERY TIME. Passionate? You should see both sides at the legislature. The pro firearms rights side tries to engage in conversation, the anti-gun side shouts, yells, distorts and makes up stuff as they go along (remember the “heckling” of Neil Heslin, for example – that didn’t happen).

I think they need to make a “lying senator” target.

Zombies for anti-gun lobbyists is appropriate, as they are already brain dead.

  16. Tim

This is the same dummy that wants to ban high capacity ammunition..Yep he’s that knowledgeable…(NOT)..I don’t think any of the politicians have a clue as to just what their job should be..They seem to think that its sticking their nose into every aspect of your life and figuring out a way to TAX it and spend it afterwards. I have a name for the three from CT, Dumb (Blumenthal), Dumber (Murphy), and Dumbest (Malloy).

  17. Mike

As disappointed as I am in these elected officials, I’m more dispaoonted in the naive voters who elect them

  18. Randy

What an idiot. Anything to avoid dealing with the economic train wreck that he and his party have created.

    1) Obamacare falling apart.
    2) Trillion dollar annual debt
    3) No Senate presented in more than 4 years
    4) Two years of negative economic growth in his home state of Connecticut
    5) Growing unemployment in his home state of Connecticut

    1. fred

Connecticut had essentially flat economic growth for the last 2 years. Still humming along at $197 billion GDP per year. No signs of going down the drain in this data. Sorry.

      $197.20 billion GDP in 2012
      $197.45 billion GDP in 2011
      $197.61 billion GDP in 2010
      $195.24 billion GDP in 2009

Connecticut unemployment has been going down over the last 3 years. Most of the time Connecticut unemployment is LESS than the national rate as shown here:

      http://www1.ctdol.state.ct.us/lmi/unemprateCTUS.asp

      1. Connecticut is Circling the Drain

So what you’re saying Fred is that on an inflation adjusted basis, Connecticut has been losing ground economically for 4 years. This is considered success- liberal style.

        Back to the drawing board.

        1. fred

Circling Drain, you are incorrect as usual. These values are inflation adjusted.

“The statistics of real GDP by state are prepared in chained (2005) dollars. Real GDP by state is an inflation–adjusted measure of each state’s gross product that is based on national prices for the goods and services produced within that state.”

These numbers are from the BEA report everyone has been talking about recently:

          http://www.bea.gov/newsreleases/regional/gdp_state/2013/pdf/gsp0613.pdf

No signs of going down the drain in this data. Back to the drawing board for you.

          1. Connecticut is Circling the Drain

I wouldn’t be crowing about GDP figures that are at best stagnant over the last 3 years there Freddie. Remember our state was the only one going backwards last year? Did you see that CT was ranked near the bottom of CNBC’s business rankings? How many of these reports does it take for you to see the mess we’re in?

Golf clap for the robust tax, spend and borrow Constitution state. It’s only a matter of time before the libtards succeed in killing this state’s economy.

          2. fred

Draino, GDP flat, not declining. Population increasing slightly. Unemployment falling last 3 years. You have no evidence to support your position. Lists affect nothing. Your dire predictions and name-calling are worthless.

          3. Connecticut is Circling the Drain

Have it your way Fred. Whatever you say. You’re the brilliant economist. Lets stay the course and let the good times roll in Connecticut.

  19. Henry

Chris Murphy is psychologically unfit to be an effective U.S. Senator. What this country and this state needs is more Murphy control. It is too bad they don’t have recalls for Murphy. As a Senator, Murphy is a total disgrace. If I need help on the Federal level, I will not go to Murphy. I will instead go to my Congressman in my district.

  20. Peter Cuprak

If anything comes out of this the little Company in SanDiego was just given a boost in sales by Senator Murphy and his carping and whining. Zombie Industries should keep us up to date on how much this idiot has increased their sales. Until this article who knew about this Company??

  21. wonk

The author left out an incredibly important element to this. The company was using ACTUAL GUN SHOT VICTIMS in their advertisement for this target, including a Virginia Tech survivor and the President of the Brady Center to Prevent Gun violence, superimposed next to the target with the phrase “bleeds when shot” next to their faces. It was a call to violence and direct threats against them.

This company is despicable and encourages people to act out sick fantasies with targets that looks likt eh president or “ex girlfriend”.

  22. Kim

“This representation is incredibly offensive to both to the victims of gun violence and to the dedicated people who advocate for gun violence prevention, many of whom have lost loved ones to guns or are survivors themselves … These people have suffered in a way that is difficult for anyone to internalize, and their losses are impossible to truly understand. To trivialize these experiences and attempt to portray such knowledgeable, passionate people as villains is a shameless and despicable ploy to make a few bucks.”

Offensive is using the Sandy Hook tragedy as a political vehicle to destroy our freedoms. Offensive is him getting paid for this stupidity or, as he puts it, a ‘despicable ploy to make a few bucks’.

I wonder when this icon of responsibility and ethics will step up and speak out about the Mexican lawman who was killed by a Fast & Furious gun; or the US Border Patrol Agent who died as a result of this government operation.

I wonder when this icon of truth will speak about Obama’s call to African citizens to ‘take responsibility for their actions’, while completely distancing himself from everything that is happening under his watch.

Let’s start with these few simple questions

    1. billy boggs

for a guy that can’t stop running his mouth about America even on independence day has real issues.

          1. Connecticut is Circling the Drain

There can be no holidays when it comes to calling out the hypocrisy of libtards and the damage they inflict on this country.

    2. fred

Kim said: “killed by a Fast & Furious gun”

Wait a second. Guns don’t kill people! I never saw a gun jump up and kill someone by itself. That killer would have used a knife or something and killed the guy even if he had no gun. Pretty lame of you to blame an inanimate object.

So hows that investigation workin out for ya? You betcha.

      1. Kim

Fred: for once you are right – guns don’t kill people. Glad to see that you’re getting with the program, finally. This quote will likely come in handy in future ‘discussions’ with libs in general and you in particular on the subject of gun rights.

Let’s skip over the hypocrisy in your statement for the moment, where you tried to make others believe that the carrying of a concealed weapon (inanimate object, remember?) had an effect on society. This contradiction should be as clear to you now as it is to the rational reader, even though you tried so hard to defend your statement and dismiss my response). This is the perfect opportunity to complete your education and transformation from mindless liberal to thinking, reasoning, possible libertarian. Or, you can continue to bury yourself by playing the fool.

As you stated, guns do NOT kill people – at least not without some help. Those who wield them are responsible for the results of their use. Still with me? Try to focus – you’ll catch up! Fast & Furious provided many illegally purchased guns to dangerous people (Remember F&F? That program that you still want to pretend eitehr doesn’t exist or is being blown out of proportion, in spite of the death or one of our border patrol agents). One of those dangerous people used one of these guns – provided by our government agency BATF – to kill a border patrol agent and a Mexican LEO. Continuing to pretend this is untrue goes to your continually declining credibility.

Now, Fred, you have the opportunity to man up and face the truth, including your erroneous party-line minimizing of F&F, by acknowledging these facts. Or, you can do the same by your silence (also unlikely). Or – and this is the course you’re most likely to take – you can continue to ‘play’ dumb and solidify the growing perception of your willful and intentional blindness and subjective adherence to party doctrine.

        Have at it Freddie

  26. enness

Don’t get me wrong, there’s no love lost between me and Chris Murphy…however…that thing is incredibly tasteless and, yeah, they should quit selling it. I don’t care if I’m one of two or three people saying this.

    1. MrLogical

And it’s good that you don’t care – because you are one of two or three people saying so.

  27. enness

P.S. Some of you people make the Jerry Springer Show look like high tea with the Queen Mum.

  28. MrLogical

Well, it didn’t take long, did it? Murphy has clearly been infected by the dread “Blumenthal Syndrome” – often simply abbreviated to “BS.” BS is a debilitating mental affliction that causes one to seek out any opportunity for a photo-op or an opportunity to make a fool of oneself by taking up ’causes’ that the average electorate cares absolutely nothing about.

For inexplicable reasons, the disease tends to strike junior Senators or Congressman who (apparently) feel compelled to impress their constituents with their political savvy and acumen and deep concern for issues that tug at the hearts of social liberals.

Behaviors manifested include the following: Obsessive attraction to news cameras or reporters tired of reporting on house fires and traffic accidents; propensity to hang out in senior centers and coffee shops where audiences can be attracted by boxes of free donuts or bagels; a tendency to lapse into rambling rants about gun control whenever someone mentions the Constitution.

Advanced stages of BS can become fatal if left unchecked; i.e., if the afflicted person is returned to office by an unwitting electorate. Regrettably, if the afflicted person comes from a predominantly liberal voting district, there is a significant chance that the disease could become fatal at some point. Making matters worse, the disease is highly communicable; and transmission is especially likely to occur between two persons of the same political persuasion, particularly if both of them are Democrats. This appears to be the means by which Sen. Murphy was infected: Viz. hanging around too much with Senator Richard “Where’s The Camera?” Blumenthal from whom the eponymous disease takes its name.

Tip for Sen. Murphy: Find some new friends to hang with. Quickly. Preferably friends from the opposite party.
