Supporters of Congressman Chris Murphy and leaders of two prominent pro-choice groups stood in front of the Capitol building in Hartford Thursday and criticized Linda McMahon, saying that she wants to make it harder for women to have access to birth control and other health care necessities.

“Linda McMahon says she’s pro-choice,” said  Shannon Lane, a board member for NARAL Pro-Choice Connecticut. “The evidence does not support that fact.”

Murphy and McMahon are squaring off in a heated U.S. Senate race. The issue of women’s rights has been featured prominently this campaign season, largely because of an anti-abortion platform passed by Republicans at the party’s national convention last month.

“I think women need to stand up to Linda McMahon and say they aren’t for sale,” said Jacqueline Kozin, treasurer for the National Organization of Women.

During Thursday’s brief press conference, speakers said the former WWE executive wants to turn the clock back to the 1950s and said that she would not like fight for women like Murphy would. The speakers also criticized her for not supporting the president’s health care law, which includes several provisions that benefit women.

“The women of Connecticut aren’t going to vote for a woman just because she’s a woman,” said Lt. Gov. Nancy Wyman.

In response to the press conference, McMahon’s campaign said Murphy was running “an increasingly desperate U.S. Senate campaign,” and it said Murphy’s supporters are attempting to paint McMahon as something she clearly is not.

“The facts are: Linda McMahon is a pro-choice candidate who supports access to contraception,” said Corry Bliss, McMahon’s campaign manager. “Congressman Murphy’s continued insistence that Linda is anything other than pro-woman is ludicrous.”

Wyman is no more than Dan Malloy’s mustard plaster, a remora stuck to the Stamford Shark who swims in Hartford.

The false issue of women’s rights was fabricated during a Republican presidential debate by a former Bill Clinton little fish, George Stephanopoulos.

Women who choose to vote for Linda McMahon do so for the chance of improving their lives. Democrats vote for Democrats just because of the party label. How sick is that?

How about Democrats standing up for once to say they can’t be bought by the unions! That will never happen. Without the unions, a Democrat candidate would never win another election!

So, let me get this straight: 15 women and 1 man hold a press conference to say that a woman running for US Senate can’t represent women???? It’s clear that while diversity (having women run for office) is important and good that doesn’t include diversity of ideas, thoughts and policies. So, i’m to believe that only a woman who thinks a certain way can represent the women of Connecticut?

I say let the women voters of Connecticut decide who they feel best represents their views and not be told who to vote for. I’m assuming by the desperate look of this event that Murphy’s internal polls show women don’t want to vote for someone who forgot to pay his rent, didn’t pay his mortgage and missed Congressional hearings when we were paying him to so….

And now the Murphy campaign parades out NOW, the female angry wing of the party, bought and paid for by the most left leaning wing. The public is expected to forget that this group endorsed a male over a female in their own party. These women do not and have not represented the interests of women for years!
Just as an aside Ms. Wyman, no, women will not vote for Mrs. McMahon just because she is a woman, they will vote for her because she is someone they have met and like, someone who talks with them and not at them. You elite Democrats just don’t get it, not all voters are sheep and like being told what to think and do knowing that as soon as this election is over you will all return to your private club and not return to lecture again until the next cycle.

Declaring herself ‘pro-choice’ is meaningless. I can think of one former Massachusetts governor who adamantly insisted that he was ‘pro-choice’ and now declares a very different stance on that particular issue. Chris Murphy has been a staunch advocate for women’s rights in Congress, and he will continue to do so in the Senate. Since Ms. McMahon has exactly zero experience serving in any political office, so her ability to navigate the RWNJ Republican party as a shaky pro-choice-in-name-only junior senator strains the bounds of credulity to say the least. And how dare she use a few missed payments from years ago against Murphy when she declared bankruptcy due to failed investments in her disgusting, violent and degrading industry? What a silly move on her part. Can you guess which of the two scenarios is more relatable to the average, hardworking Connecticut voter?

“Murphy Supporters Say They Aren’t For Sale”

Interesting and odd considering that it appears Chris Murphy might have been “for sale” when he voted to support legislation that led to spending millions of Obama-bucks (our taxpayer dollars…) on the Webster bailout.

How many people do you know who had not one but TWO mortgage delinquencies on their record and still managed to receive a very competitive rate? Not many. In fact, unless they had something to ‘offer’ the lender in return, I’d say the number is zero.

Can you say, quid pro quo?

Wake up, Connecticut, this is what crony capitalim looks like.

    No more Democrats.

    We can’t afford them.
