New Ad: Murphy’s Turn To Get Negative
Chris Murphy fires back at Linda McMahon in an ad that foreshadows weeks of mudslinging. His new ad focuses on a couple of things that traditional Democrats might not like — offshore bank accounts and tax cuts for the wealthy.
McMahon, however, doesn’t appear to have any offshore bank accounts. Her tax cut would certainly help the wealthy — but it would also benefit the middle class, at least according to the McMahon campaign.
As for what McMahon would cut in the federal budget, Linda has not been specific, which might be the real story.

Wow. That ad is just not fair. Why else would Linda McMahon spend north of $75 Million to go to the U.S. Senate, — if not that she cares so, so deeply about the middle class!
Let’s not forget that he learned at the knees of Harry Reid and Nancy Pelosi…if anyone can get fantasy based negative…it’s Chris Murphy
Let’s not forget linda gave $30k to Rham/Pelosi’s DCCC to foster Murf
Why is it the Democrats get so defensive and hateful. Is it because they have are destroying America while going extreme to the left to where they would make a Communist leader happy not to mention union leaders.
There are some very serious issues at stake in this year’s election — so many that some people may not be able to see the forest for the trees. Individual issues are the trees, but the forest is the future of America as we have known it.
The America that has flourished for more than two centuries is being quietly but steadily dismantled by the Obama administration. If Obama and Demcratic Senators get reelected, he knows that he need no longer worry about what the voters think about anything he does. Never having to face them again, he can take his arbitrary rule by decree as far as he wants. He may be challenged in the courts but, if he gets just one more Supreme Court appointment, he can pick someone who will rubber stamp anything he does and give him a 5 to 4 majority.
Increasingly, Chris Murphy is looking like the dweebish kid who never got picked for any of the sports teams and has instead contented himself by becoming a perennial candidate for president of the sophomore class.
Here’s a kid… er, man, who has never worked a day in his life in the ‘real world’ but instead traded on the connections of his daddy’s law firm to get into politics – and there he remains.
CT has too many ‘professional politicians’ and we need to have people in Washington who know what it takes to start and run a successful business. And for those who would look down their noses at the business that Linda and Vince have created, I would ask: “And what have you accomplished?”
Chris Murphy’s modern-day Democrat party isn’t the party of your father or your grandfather; it’s a party that has become dominated by Marxist-Leninist redistributionists who are bent on destroying the America that our forbears created and defended, and the goal of their socialistic policies is to make everyone in America equally miserable and destitute.
Can we really afford another Democrat drone going to Washington and skipping important committee meetings merely to show up for a roll call vote and check which way his party’s flag is waving? Or do we need a Representative who will go to Congress, participate fully in committee meetings and conferences to fully understand BOTH sides of an issue to decide how best to represent the interests of ALL constituents in CT-5?
I prefer someone who takes their oath of office and their pledge to their constituents seriously. I prefer someone other than Chris Murphy.
Vote wisely, Connecticut. We’ve reached a tipping point. November 6th will be the most important vote in the history of our republic and we simply cannot afford to get it wrong – again.
Corrected inadvertent arrors…

Way back through the mists of time, didn’t Nancy Johnson go heavily negative against Chris Murphy? I recall many commenters seeing this negativity as the cause of her loss because she turned off the voters.
Chris has learned from this.
oldswede
Tell me again what taxpayers and campaign contributers SPEND for all these negative ads? am I wrong to realize that when two candidates mud-sling at each other they might well BOTH BE RIGHT?
For all of Chris Murphy’s plaintiff rhetoric, the facts don’t lie. Murphy has only been a success in stalling, blocking and avoiding am easy resolution to reducing the price of fuel at the pump. For almost six years, Congressman Murphy has fought against new drilling in ANWR and other projects to help America become more energy independent.
If you are happy with the price of gas, the cost of heating your home in the winter and the related increases in food prices, vote for Murphy. If you think he has been a horrible failure representing the 5th district, and fear what his destructive influence in the US Senate might bring, vote for Linda McMahon.
McMahon has a track record of creating jobs. Chris Murphy has a record of killing jobs. Why would anyone vote against his or her best interests? We tried that with Barack Obama. How did that work out for us? Huh!
When you can’t or don’t want to talk about your record as a sitting US Congressman, I suppose the only logical solution is negative. No one should be suprised, with a record that has resulted in record unemployment, a historically high deficit and no budget being passed in over 1200 days, its no wonder Congressman Murphy has resorted to mudslinging.
Connecticut deserves and needs better.
