NYT: Roraback, Esty, Murphy and Shays Are Best Candidates
The New York Times has made its picks for Connecticut’s Aug. 14 primary.
In an editorial published online late Tuesday, the newspaper says that Republican Andrew Roraback and Democrat Elizabeth Esty are their party’s best candidates for the Fifth District. In the U.S. Senate race, The Times gave its backing to Democrat Chris Murphy and Republican Chris Shays.

Another kiss of death for a Republican…the New York Times’ endorsement!
Although a no-brainier, they actually got them all right.
HST
The NY Times endorsement ? Says a real lot about Mr. Roraback.
Common sense 101 will tell the average Republican voter that:
#1 that Roraback is most liberal because he is acceptable to the NYT.
#2- that he must be the most un-electable against the presumptive Democrat in the 5th. Which is any Democrat, indicted or not.
#3 Proves idealogical alignment with all the “local fishwrap” including this fine New England chronicle, hosting this blog! Sorry Kurrant.
