Rick, these polls all assume that the Democrat turnout in November will actually exceed the record turnout from 2008. If you believe that, well, I’ve got a burning house I’d like to sell you.
This race is about as down to the wire as it gets, and that fact alone tells you that Romney has been running a poor race. He should be cleaning the floor with Mr. 8+% Unemployment and is not.
As I recall Jimmy Carter was ahead more than Obama 4 weeks before the election. However, the final election was the one poll the counted to allow Reagan to win with a very wide margin. I suspect the same thing will happen this time. I have not met very many people who think Obama is qualified to represent them….
I average Gallup and Rasmussen. The rest are wingnuts.
I’m reminded of the PPP poll from November 2011 in which only 31% of North Carolina supported the DOMA Amendment. Of course, they had the numbers butt backwards with DOMA passing by 61%.
It’s a good way to generate business — polemical issue polling for publicity and profit.
That whole “We are the pollsters. We set the mood of the nation. No one wants to vote for a loser” thing is completely out of hand. These small upstart polling companies are run by people like myself–sitting in my Mother’s basement with my hoodie on
Gaming the polling aggregators is the new spin. Whenever Romney pulls close some crazy outlier poll appears with Obama +14.
Leftist media wants all of the adults to think this is all over. Obama will probably win this silly blue state…but I think the rest of the country is on to him, the mainstream media, and Axlerod & Soros.
Barry can play golf full-time and Michelle can waddle herself in front of people trying to police their food.
At one point in his history Obama outlined his plan to create a coalition of the working poor that would help to push his socialist agenda.
With food stamp recipients increased by 50% through active marketing by his administration, public sector unions buying a place at the government money-table and benefitting from ‘stimulus’ handouts for their votes, and a reported 95% of black voters supporting Obama (speaking of racism), the reality amongst rational, objective voters that Obama is killing this country might not be enough to lose him the election.
As the old sayingg goes (paraphrased): Now is the time for all good men to come to the aid of their country. We need the average, sensible, selfless voter to come out in force and take this country back
Hi Kim,
Hope all is well.
Right back at you JG. Happy to hear about the successful sale of the business
Kim…will you marry me?
Todd,
I once thought the same thing, but I think you are barking up a way too liberal tree.
Not that Kim is a liberal. Just that you marriage would only be valid in CT and a few other select states.
Todd, I’m flattered but I think I should consult with my wife before making a decision
Don’t feel badly – it happens all the time
If Obama is pulling away, why is he “wasting” time campaigning in Ohio today?
I think these polls are correct. There is no need for Democrats to take time out of their day to go vote. I mean, it is obviously all sewn up here in CT.
And nationwide, if Obama is up by 10% in all the important battleground states, why lose pay and family time to go wait in a polling place line.
Clearly, the message is that this election is over. Why waste time?
It is amazing how the worst President since FDR can be doing so well….. Oh well I have enough faith that the voters will do the right thing and fire Obama.
apparently liberals and democrats take pride in their president having the time to speak with Whoopie Goldberg on the View, but not having time to speak with mideast leaders while that part of the country is going up in flames.
Welcome to the Obama plan to reduce the size, strength, and influence of America on the rest of the world. Why would he want to do that? Like Madonna said ‘We have a freakin’ black Muslim in the white house’.
If I were advising Romney, I would tell him to speak the truth about Medicare and lay out his plans to seniors. Then, he should implore them to come to the aid of this country once again as they did during WWI, WWII and Korea, and vote Obama out. Their country needs them now more than ever
If he’s so far ahead why continue to campaign in states like Ohio….sorry….I don’t buy it….the over-sampling of Democrats for these polls is a well known gimmick
the liberal media obviously has an agenda and it doesn’t include objectivity, honesty, or balanced reporting on political issues especially the Presidential race.
They are fully aware that if they keep saying Obama is winning, many readers/viewers will believe them and decide not to vote for a lost cause. This is racketeering at its worst, but no one will call it such.
