Obama Takes Oath Of Office

At noon today the president took the oath of office in a private ceremony at the White House. President Obama used a bible from his wife’s grandmother to take the oath, which is required by the Constitution on Jan 20.

Chief Justice John Roberts administered the presidential oath in a two-minute ceremony. The Washington Post has more details about the private swearing-in, which took place in the Blue Room.
