PAC Dedicated To Electing Conservative Women Endorses Wilson-Foley
Maggie’s List, a political action committee dedicated to electing conservative women to federal office, announced Tuesday that it is endorsing Republican Lisa Wilson-Foley in Connecticut’s 5th Congressional District race.
“Lisa Wilson-Foley is a strong candidate who will work to turn the country around and jumpstart the economy with her private sector experience,” said Sandra Mortham, chairman of Maggie’s List and a former secretary of state in Florida, in a prepared statement. “Lisa is committed to cutting spending and balancing the federal budget, repealing ObamaCare while reforming healthcare so that patients are in charge, transforming unsustainable entitlement programs and making Congress follow the laws that all other Americans have to obey.”
Maggie’s List is a political action committee backed by a good group of women, Wilson-Foley said when asked about the endorsement. “I was very pleased, obviously, to receive the endorsement,” she said.
Wilson-Foley is one of two women who ultimately want to represent the 5th Congressional District. Democrat Elizabeth Esty also wants the seat.
Wilson-Foley did not receive the Republican nomination for Congress last month. She will face Republican nominee Andrew Roraback, Mark Greenberg and Justin Bernier in a primary on Aug. 14.
Esty also did not receive her party’s nomination. She will go up against party nominee Christopher Donovan and Dan Roberti in the Democratic primary to be held on the same day.
Maggie’s List says women comprise 54 percent of the U.S. population, but only 16.4 percent of the seats in the U.S. House and 17 seats in the U.S. Senate. The group is looking to increase those numbers.

Sweet. Just what Congress needs: more dimwitted Tea Party idiots donning the armor of ignorance to defend the 1%.
