It\’s Park(ing) Day, apparently, an event sponsored by the Greater Hartford Arts Council:

For the first time ever, the City of Hartford celebrates PARK(ing) Day: a global movement to reclaim metered parking spaces and transform them into temporary parks. PARK(ing) Day invites citizens, artists and activists to “take back the streets,” and re-imagine the urban environment to create pop-up public spaces for everyone to enjoy.

Here\’s one in front of Starbucks downtown:

I’m of two minds on this. It’s cute, but considering that downtown is Construction Hell and there are a lot of stressed-out drivers who might or might not find it amusing, do we need to make it harder to park and easier to hit people?

    1. Connecticut is circling the drain

Bear with the construction- soon there will be an awesome busway bringing lots of new jobs, adding no cost to the budget, and tansporting thousands of people to New Britski. Its part of the libtardian master plan.

Oh really, arsehole – the brain of the conservative blogs? This fastrack bus lane to no where was initiated under Republican John Roland ‘s administration in 1997. If you may recall, buzz brain, this ex convict republican governor ruled or should I say raped CT from 1995 through 2004.

        Really? Oh really.
