Quinnipiac University will release its first post-convention poll of the U.S. Senate candidates Wednesday morning.

The poll of both the Republican and Democratic contenders is also Quinnipiac’s first since March 22.

In that survey, Republican Linda McMahon, the co-founder of the Stamford-based wrestling and entertainment company WWE, led former 4th District Congressman Christopher Shays, a fellow Republican, by 9 percentage points.

But Shays scored far better against Democratic candidates Chris Murphy, a Congressman from Connecticut’s 5th District, and former Secretary of the State Susan Bysiewicz. Shays was essentially tied with both Murphy and Bysiewicz; McMahon would lose to both Democrats, the poll found.

McMahon won the endorsement at the state Republican convention last month while Murphy was the choice of Democratic delegates. But both Shays and Bysiewicz received sufficient support to qualify for a Aug. 14 primary.

I have no doubt this poll will be in stark contrast to McMahon’s internal push-poll from earlier this week. Her timing was perfect: now we get to see just how big a fib that was.

The choice is clear, Unions VS. Taxpayers, in Wisconsin the Taxpayers WON! $3.5 Billion is cuts were made and a surplus was had along with tax CUTS! It can be done, the unending tax increases to support the state worker Unions does not need to happen….there is hope for the Taxpayer. Scott Walker will go down in history as the man who stood up to the Union Pressure and just said enough is enough….and survived!
