Republican Wants Taxes Raised*
“Time to increase taxes.”
I did a double-take when I saw that headline on Wayne Winsley’s blog. Winsley, who describes himself as “Connecticut’s Conservative Capitalist,” ran as a Republican against U.S. Rep. Rosa DeLauro in the 3rd District. And raising taxes isn’t an idea most Republicans embrace.
Turns out Winsley isn’t talking about increasing the tax rate but rather increasing the pool of people paying taxes by adding jobs. “It is time to increase the amount of taxes being paid by increasing the number of people that are paying taxes,” he writes.

Newsflash: Democrat found who wants spending cut*
*Yeah right. Have you ever met a Democrat who wanted to spend less? Anyone? Obama? Malloy? Beuller?
Bingo! Raising tax rates won’t raise tax *revenue* by even a single dollar. Growing jobs and the GDP will.
It’s too bad that Wayne Winsley, one of the few candidates who recognizes this, never had a chance in heck to win his race for Congress.
President Obama, are you listening.
Daniela gives no in-depth review/analysis of Winsley’s position on increasing tax revenues through job creation. It appears that all she really wanted to do was print – in large font – the misleading title ‘hinting’ that ‘Republican wants taxes raised’.
Nice reporting, Daniela.
