Democrat Chris Donovan’s former campaign finance director, Robert Braddock Jr., has been indicted in the ongoing FBI probe into fundraising irregularities in the 5th Congressional District.

The 20-page, three-count indictment charges Braddock with conspiracy, making contributions in the name of another, and causing false statements.

The indictment states that a report made to the Federal Election Commission in Washington, D.C. “was materially false and misleading in reporting the source and amount of contributions to the campaign by an individual.”

The indictment also states that “Braddock and others known and unknown to the grand jury, aided and abetted by each other, knowingly and willfully accepted contributions of money, aggregating more than $10,000 during the 2012 calendar year, made by one person in the name of another to the campaign of a candidate for the United States House of Representatives.”

The indictment was signed by U.S. Attorney David B. Fein, Assistant USA Christopher M. Mattei, and Assistant USA Eric J. Glover.
