Andrew Roraback remembers former Gov. John Rowland ”pummeling” him on WTIC radio this spring. At the time, he said, he did not know Rowland was working for a health care company owned by the husband of 5th Congressional District opponent Lisa Wilson-Foley.

Rowland was also volunteering for Wilson-Foley’s campaign, and the FBI is now investigating.

So Thursday night, when it came time for the Republican candidates to ask questions of each other at a debate at Edmond Town Hall, Roraback inquired of Wilson-Foley: At what point did she know Rowland was being paid by her husband’s company, and did she realize the relationship would lead to a federal investigation?

Wilson-Foley called the controversy a political ploy started by a former rival who is also a former member of the FBI. She was referring to Republican Mike Clark, who dropped out of the 5th District race this spring.
