Gary Rose, chairman of the department of government and politics at Sacred Heart University in Fairfield, had a front row seat for the rollicking 2012 Connecticut Senate race and he shares his observations in a new book.

\”No Holds Barred: The 2012 Connecticut Senate Race\” looks at the bitter and expensive battle for votes between Democrat Chris Murpky and Republican wrestling mogul Linda McMahon.

The book, published last month by Academica Press, is filled with interviews, including lengthy pre- and post-election conversations with operatives, state and local party leaders and the candidates themselves.

The book \”is exquisitely written and filled with fascinating tales of partisan wrangling, as the title suggests,\’\’ says John Kenneth White, a professor at Catholic University of America.
