Shuster In Connecticut Today; Clinton To Come Sunday
With Election Day just 12 days away, political candidates are not slowing down — even with talk of Hurricane Sandy hitting Connecticut next week.
This morning, U.S. Senate candidate Chris Murphy, a Democrat, discussed Social Security and Medicare benefits with AARP members during a telephone conversation. His opponent, Republican Linda McMahon, did the same thing on Thursday.
This afternoon, Murphy will stop in New Haven to visit small businesses with state Rep. Juan Candelaria, D-New Haven, and on Sunday, former U.S. President Bill Clinton will campaign for Murphy at Library Park in Waterbury.
McMahon also has a rally planned for Sunday at 1 p.m. in Watertown.
“Before Bill Clinton even gets here, we’re going to show them what this campaign is all about,” says a letter from the McMahon campaign that talks about the rally.
Like Murphy, Democrat Elizabeth Esty, who is running for the 5th Congressional District seat, says she will also be in Waterbury on Sunday. She said she considers Clinton’s presence a boost for her campaign as well.
Esty’s schedule for Saturday hasn’t been finalized yet, but her spokesman says it is likely to include retail stops.
Esty’s opponent, Republican Andrew Roraback, is spending some time today with U.S. Congressman Bill Shuster, a Republican from Pennsylvania. At two separate events, the pair will be discussing transportation issues in Connecticut. One event will be in Waterbury; the other in Danbury.
On Saturday night, Roraback is set to attend a LittleHouse concert in Simsbury.
Roraback and Esty will meet at a AARP forum on Monday.

A picture begins to emerge :
Linda McMahon is nothing more than an old Carnival Barker.
She will say anything to get people to play her game.
The prizes offered … Chrome plated plastic trinkets.
Come on people! This isn`t even funny!
I don’t want to live in the state known for putting
Linda McMahon on the floor of The U.S. Senate ! !
She clearly illustrates having nothing intellectually to offer Connecticut in terms of a United States Senator. This is nothing but an empty facade; Behind Linda McMahon’s eyes exsists a vast void. Personally, I don’t think she has the capacity for the level of intelligence, or thought to perform as a United States Senator ; And I think her level of abstract thought and reasoning belongs on children`s television, Saturday Mornings.
Rod Serling steps out from around the corner,
And offers a Narrative :
” Submitted for your approval: Linda McMahon,
Roller Derby Queen, or United States Senator?
You decide your reality, when you cast your vote in
The Twighlight Zone “
One day Linda McMahon is designing the next gimmick and theme of the next TV Wrestler; And the next day she`s discussing defense contracts and budget issues with The Department of Defense ? ! ? ! This is a sick and perverse dream ! Too Much Cotton Candy at The Carnival Children ! Come On ! ! !
You can put lipstick on an old Carnival Barker, and what have you got? An old carnival barker wearing lipstick !
Is this the best the Republican Party can put forth in Connecticut ?
Linda McMahon ? ! ? !
What do the old Republican Stalwarts think of this ?
We live in a world of precision instruments today.
Very Competative … You must specialize.
We live in a world of specialists.
You don`t see a foot doctor for a mental problem.
Chris Murphy is a United States Congressman;
Linda McMahon is an Old Carnival Barker.
it`s just the way it is.
