Slain Newtown Teachers, Administrators To Receive Presidential Citizens Medal

On Feb. 15 President Obama will host the 2012 recipients of the Presidential Citizens Medal at the White House. The Newtown teachers and administrators who died protecting the children in their care will be among the awardees, and will be represented by their family members at the White House.

The medal recognizes “citizens of the United States of America who have performed exemplary deeds of service for their country or their fellow citizens.” According to the White House, it is generally recognized as the second highest civilian award of our Government.
