Who says Connecticut is a small state with few electoral votes and little influence on the national stage?

U.S. House Speaker John Boehner, the most powerful Republican in the nation, is coming to the Hartford Club on Tuesday to raise money for Congressional aspirant Andrew Roraback of Goshen.

Boehner will be arriving soon after former House Speaker Nancy Pelosi’s very low-key arrival last Friday for a big-money fundraiser in downtown Hartford.

The Pelosi fundraising invitation shows that members of the “Speaker’s Cabinet” would raise or write a check for $30,800 per couple for a luncheon and VIP reception at the restaurant on the 20th floor of One State Street in downtown Hartford. Pelosi has appeared at the same spot in the past with U.S. Rep. John B. Larson of East Hartford, the House Democratic Caucus chairman and one of the highest-ranking Democrats in Washington, D.C.

The host committee members raised or paid $15,000 per couple for the luncheon, while the minimum was $1,500 per person for lunch in the fundraiser for the Democratic Congressional Campaign Committee.

Imagine anyone spending money to see this crash-test dummy speak…..”we’ll have to pass it to find out what’s in it”….I’m surprised she can fly in a pressurized cabin, with all of that plastic surgery you’d think she’d crack….
