Special Election For Rep. Hurlburt\’s Seat To Take Place June 11th

The special election to replace state Rep. Bryan Hurlburt, who resigned last week, will take place on Tuesday, June 11, Secretary of The State Denise Merrill announced Friday.

The governor\’s office had until Monday to issue a writ of special election for the 53rd assembly district, in order to fill the seat vacated by Hurlburt, who was appointed by President Obama to serve as state executive director for the Farm Service Agency. The 53rd district comprises Ashford, Tolland and Willington.
