Christopher Who? New McMahon Ad Looks Beyond the Primary, Hits Murphy
Republican U.S. Senate candidate Linda McMahon has yet to secure her party’s nomination but she’s already setting her sights on her likely Democratic opponent, U.S. Rep. Chris Murphy.
McMahon, the former CEO of the wrestling and entertainment company known as WWE, is running a new attack ad that seeks to contrast her with Murphy.
“Linda McMahon is a job-creator, Chris Murphy is a career politician,” the ad says. “McMahon created hundreds of good Connecticut jobs, Murphy has never created a single job.”
McMahon will face former Congressman Christopher Shays in the Republican primary. On the Democratic side, Murphy will battle former Secretary of the State Susan Bysiewicz. Both primaries will be held on Aug. 14.
UPDATE: Shripal Shah, spokesman for the Democratic Senatorial Campaign Committee had this to say about McMahon’s new ad: “The last time Linda McMahon revved up her multi-million dollar attack machine she lost her race by double digits. Connecticut voters know that they can’t trust someone like Linda McMahon who got rich selling sex and violence to little kids, all at the expense of the health and safety of her own employees. These desperate attacks won’t change those facts.”

The amazing thing is that Linda McMahon doesn’t seem to know that as a freshman Senator she would have really no role in crafting legislation, — meaning her vaunted “jobs plan” is about as real as pro wrestling.
Ditto for her tax cuts, by which she proposes that taxes could go lower than they already are, via advertising that is best described as intellectually dishonest.
Of course Ms. McMahon won’t take questions from the press, but someone should call her out on the lies she is floating as a candidate. I mean we all know what a “typical politician” is, but Linda is operating beyond that, in a fashion which is either completely naive, or incredibly cynical.
Pay no attention to the Polls, vote Shays Aug 14
Vote SHAYS Aug. 14.
PPP is a liberal polling outfit; not enough Republicans in that poll to matter. Liberals want us to believe that McMahon is beating SHAYS because if she wins the primary and runs against Murphy in the general election, Murphy will emerge victorious. Nice try PPP, but too transparent.
Just about SEX??!! McMahon’s “empire” is all about SEX!?! She can take us back to the GLORY DAYS of BILL CLINTON ! ! ! YaHOO! She DOES deserve this endorsement – because after all – wasn’t everybody (except Monica) better off under Bill – umm,, better off when Bill and Hillary were President and his harrassment was “just about sex” !?
Go LINDA ! ! !
Ditto to that Voter World, very interesting that the bought and paid for Q Poll isn’t dropping a poll before the convention
Her saying she created all those jobs is, as one observer said, like Mrs. George Lucas saying she made “Star Wars.”
I am getting real tired of the CT Dems and DSCC spouting off about sex and violence. When the Democrats, including the current President, give back all the money they have received from Hollywood elites, whom by the way market sex and violence to children better than anyone, perhaps I will take their criticism of Linda McMahon seriously.
It is appalling to me that these political writers insert this line from the DSCC every chance they get and never once call out the spokesperson on the hypocrisy.
What she can do is help the Republicans gain a seat in the Senate as a republican instead of a RINO in Sheys. Yeah, let us keep voting in the Dem’s so we can have some more Hope and Change, oh yeah and some of that FORWARD. Look up and do some research on what the dark side of the word FORWARD means. And seeing that again you try to put the WWE in a bad light, well I hope Linda body slams Sheys and then puts the democrat out for the count. Go LINDA Go!
Move on Shays, you’re about to lose. Don’t be a baby; stand with your party in November. Linda is tough, and she has no previous relationships with any of these sleaze politicians, so she will stand up for what she thinks is best for the people of CT – rather than answering to a higher power. GO LINDA!
