“The Stan Simpson Show” and “The Real Story” with host Laurie Perez both focus this weekend for the full 30 minutes on the ongoing FBI probe into  the Congressional campaign of House Speaker Christopher Donovan.

The programs cover the arrest of Robert Braddock, Jr., who was the finance director of Donovan’s Congressional campaign in the Fifth District that stretches from Simsbury to Danbury to Salisbury. Braddock was arrested on May 30 and immediately dismissed from the campaign. Donovan, a liberal Democrat, has maintained repeatedly that he has done nothing wrong, and he held a union rally this week outside the offices of the Connecticut Education Association on Oak Street in Hartford.

Simpson talks to former federal prosecutor Reese Norris and Attorney Corey Brinson regarding the investigation.

Perez also has an All-Star lineup that includes, among others, former FBI supervisor Mike Clark and Ross Garber, a white-collar criminal defense attorney who was the former chief counsel to the office of Gov. John G. Rowland during the 2004 impeachment hearings. Perez also speaks with Democratic consultant Matthew J. Hennessy, who worked as chief of staff to former Hartford Mayor Eddie Perez. Perez was convicted in a corruption scandal, and he is currently free as his appeal is pending.

The programs are available online, and they will be broadcast on FOX CT before the 7 a.m. weekend news programs. “The Real Story” will be rebroadcast on the CT-N public affairs network at precisely 8:36 p.m. Sunday, while Simpson’s show will be rebroadcast at 9:37 p.m., according to the latest CT-N schedule.

Donovan is scheduled to appear on “Face The State,” which will be rebroadcast at 9:08 p.m. Sunday on CT-N.
