U.S. Sen. Richard Blumenthal Calls For Assault Weapons Ban on CNN
U.S. Sen. Richard Blumenthal is calling for a federal ban on assault weapons and better enforcement of all gun laws across the board.
Appearing on CNN with host Piers Morgan, Blumenthal said the deaths of 20 children and 6 adults at the Sandy Hook Elementary School have struck a chord across the country and had a deeper impact than many other mass shootings.
“I think there has really been a seismic change,” Blumenthal said on live television. “I think a nerve has been touched. Newtown will never be the same, but neither will America. … I really am sensing there is an openness and willingness” to debate a ban on assault weapons.
He added, “Newtown is a quintessential New England town. … Newtown is coming together and coming back.”

Repealing the 2nd amendment should be the goal. Banning assault rifles will not work. We need to outlaw gun ownership with the exception of single bolt action hunting rifle.
Yes, we need to ban these evil, wicked weapons, and the clips that go into them. Make it a Felony to have one, with automatic five years in jail. They killed our babies.
